    How Sleep Sage Researches Sleep

Sleep Sage publishes independent research and product guidance using hands-on product evaluation, manufacturer specifications, peer-reviewed research, published safety guidance, owner feedback, and other reputable sources. Health-related information is provided for educational purposes and should not be considered medical advice.

What our recommendations are built on

    Hands-on or research evaluation

Products are evaluated through either our full hands-on testing protocol or a clearly labeled research evaluation using manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and owner feedback. We distinguish the evaluation method on each review.

    Manufacturer specifications

Coil counts, foam densities, cover materials, certifications, warranty and trial terms are taken from manufacturer spec sheets and verified against the product we received.

    Peer-reviewed research

Where we discuss sleep, posture, or temperature regulation, we cite published research and reputable public-health sources such as the NIH, CDC, FDA, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

    Published safety guidance

For anything involving infants, children, or flame-retardant and chemical safety, we defer to published guidance from regulators and standards bodies (CPSC, CertiPUR-US, GOTS, GOLS, OEKO-TEX).

    Owner feedback

We read verified owner reviews and reader emails at scale to surface durability and customer-service patterns that a short in-house test window cannot reveal.

    What we don't claim

Sleep Sage does not employ physicians, physical therapists, or other licensed clinicians, and our pages are not medically reviewed. We do not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment. When a page discusses a health condition, it summarizes published guidance and product characteristics only — talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your own situation.
