Editorial policy requires that affiliate commissions do not determine conclusions or purchase advice. Commercial relationships must be disclosed. This policy is not a claim about separate teams or a documented history of declined partnerships.

Transparency

We clearly disclose all affiliate relationships and how we make money. When we link to a product and receive a commission, we say so. Our business model is transparent because trust is the foundation of everything we do.

Original Research

Research evaluations compare published manufacturer specifications, construction, materials and buying terms. They are not personally tested results. Third-party claims require attribution; historical experience is not evidence of completion of the current physical protocol. Manufacturer descriptions are claims to assess, not independent performance measurements.

Balanced Reporting

Every mattress has pros and cons. We present both honestly, even for products from our affiliate partners. If a mattress isn't right for certain sleepers, we say so clearly.

Review Standards

What Makes a Sleep Sage Review

  • 1Physical Testing & Research Evaluation: No mattress has completed the current instrumented physical protocol with recorded measurements. Current mattress records are research evaluations, not lab-tested results. Personally tested observations require a specific documented record; historical experience is kept separate.
  • 2Testing Duration: State personally tested duration only when a product record supports it. A manufacturer sleep trial is a return policy, not nights tested by Sleep Sage.
  • 3Evidence-Limited Evaluation: Research verdicts explain specifications and fit in words. The physical-scoring rubric is a future protocol, not a source of measured scores today.
  • 4Accountable Writing: Claims must be traceable to evidence regardless of writing tools. No AI-free authorship policy or professional credential is established by the product records. Pages are not medically reviewed.
  • 5Regular Updates: Policy calls for reviewing affected content when documented product changes or new evidence become available; no fixed update cadence is claimed.

Content Updates

The mattress industry evolves constantly. We commit to keeping our content current:

  • •Evidence Review: Reassess affected conclusions when supporting information changes. Future physical retesting requires dated records; no annual retest cadence is documented.
  • •Prices on Record: Prices on record can change; confirm the seller's current price, configuration and terms. No weekly price-verification cadence is established here.

  • •Reader Feedback: Reader reports can identify questions to investigate. Do not call feedback purchase-verified without evidence or turn it into measured results.

Corrections Policy

Our corrections policy prioritizes factual accuracy and transparent material changes, without a guaranteed response deadline:

  • • Significant Corrections: Material corrections should identify what changed and the actual correction date.

User Review Policy

Our user-review policy distinguishes submitted opinions from independently verified evidence:
