About Brooklinen
Brooklinen launched in 2014 out of a Kickstarter campaign built on a simple pitch: hotel-grade long-staple cotton sold without the department-store markup. It became the reference point for the DTC bedding wave that followed.
The line is organised around weave rather than thread count. Classic Percale is the crisp, cool option; Luxe Sateen is the smoother, warmer one; Linen sits above both for hot, humid rooms. That three-way split is the main decision a Brooklinen buyer has to make.
Brooklinen has since expanded into duvets, quilts, towels, loungewear and a growing furniture line, but sheets remain the reason most people arrive.
What they make: Percale, sateen, linen and flannel sheet sets; duvet covers and inserts; quilts and coverlets; pillows, towels and loungewear.
Brooklinen Lineup Compared
| Line | Material | Feel | Queen price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic Percale | Long-staple cotton, 270 TC | Crisp, matte, cool | $135–$179 | Hot sleepers and anyone who likes a hotel-crisp bed |
| Luxe Sateen | Long-staple cotton, 480 TC | Smooth, slight sheen, warmer | $179–$209 | Cool bedrooms and sleepers who want a silky hand |
| Linen | Belgian and French flax linen | Textured, airy, relaxed | $269–$329 | Humid climates and a lived-in look |
| Heathered Cashmere | Cotton and cashmere blend | Brushed, insulating | $229–$269 | Winter bedding in cold rooms |
Prices are list prices for a queen set and move with frequent promotions. Frequent 15–25% sitewide sales; rarely worth paying full list price.

Brooklinen Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set
9.3/10Buttery 480-thread-count sateen — Brooklinen's bestselling sheet
What we like
- Clear weave-first lineup makes the choice easy
- Percale is genuinely crisp and breathable, not a sateen in disguise
- 365-day returns remove most of the risk
- Large colour and pattern selection, restocked regularly
What we don't
- Sateen pills more readily than the percale over heavy use
- Organic certification is limited to a subset of the range
- Full-price sets are expensive relative to Quince and Casaluna
Buy Brooklinen if
- First-time buyers upgrading from big-box cotton sheets
- Hot sleepers who want percale rather than sateen
- Buyers who want a long return window before committing
- Anyone matching sheets, duvet cover and shams in one order
Look elsewhere if
- Shoppers who need GOTS-certified organic cotton throughout the range
- Very tight budgets — Quince and Target's Casaluna undercut Brooklinen substantially
- Buyers who want deep pockets above 15 inches without checking the size chart first

Care notes
- Wash percale cold and tumble dry low — it softens over roughly five washes and wrinkles less each time.
- Skip fabric softener on sateen; it coats the fibres and accelerates pilling.
- Linen prefers a gentle cycle and a low dryer setting pulled slightly damp.
Brooklinen FAQs
Is Brooklinen worth the money?
For the percale, yes — it is one of the crispest cotton sheet sets at its price and the 365-day return window makes trying it low risk. If you mainly want a silky sateen, Boll & Branch and Cozy Earth are stronger at a higher price and Quince is far cheaper at a lower one.
Brooklinen percale or sateen?
Percale if you sleep hot or like a crisp, hotel-style bed. Sateen if your bedroom runs cool and you want a smooth, slightly glossy surface. Percale is the safer default for most buyers.
Does Brooklinen shrink?
Expect a small amount of shrinkage after the first wash, which is why the sets are cut oversized. Washing cold and drying low keeps it minimal.
How deep are Brooklinen fitted sheets?
The standard fitted sheets accommodate mattresses up to roughly 15 inches deep, including a topper on a slim mattress. Deeper builds need to be measured before ordering.
