2026 Three-Way Comparison

Eight Sleep vs. Chilipad vs. BedJet

A smart bed that thinks for you, a water pad that just holds a number, or a fan that blows the heat out of your sheets. Same problem, three completely different machines — and a $2,300 spread between them.

    The short answer

Buy the BedJet if your problem is night sweats, hot flashes, or cold feet and you would rather spend $500 than $2,800 — it is the only one of the three that removes moisture, and nothing lies under your body. Buy the Chilipad if you want a genuinely cold sleeping surface and refuse to pay a monthly fee for a bed. Buy Eight Sleep if you want the bed to sense your heart rate, adjust itself overnight and report on your sleep, and the membership does not bother you.

    Five-year cost

BedJet: about $500–$700 total. Chilipad: about $1,599 total. Eight Sleep: about $2,799 hardware plus roughly $1,000 in Autopilot fees — near $3,800 before the Base, Blanket or Pillow Cover.

    Cooling power

The water systems are the only two that make the surface colder than the room. Chilipad publishes the widest range at 55–115°F; Eight Sleep matches the cold end and stops at 110°F warm. The BedJet is limited to room-temperature air.

    Sweat and humidity

Only the BedJet moves air, so only the BedJet removes moisture. If you wake up damp rather than simply warm, that is the deciding factor and it costs the least of the three.

    Pick by situation

    • Night sweats, hot flashes, menopause: BedJet 3.
    • Hot bedroom, want a cold surface, hate subscriptions: Chilipad 2.0.
    • Want tracking, automation and an accessory ecosystem: Eight Sleep Pod 5.
    • Couple who want dual zone and no monthly fee: also price the Navien OptiSleep, which ships two independent circuits and a warming cover.
    • Cold sleeper who wants warmth fast: BedJet heats bedding in seconds and is safer than an electric blanket.
