    Key Takeaways

Limited lifetime warranty, non-prorated for ten years
Years 11–15 cost 50% of current retail; years 16–20 cost 60%
Covered sag: visible indentation greater than 1.5"
Slats greater than 5.5" apart void the warranty
Non-transferable; disputes go to binding arbitration

Helix covers its mattresses with a limited lifetime warranty for the full period of the original purchaser's ownership. The word that matters is prorated, and it starts in year eleven.

YEARS 1–10: NON-PRORATED. Helix repairs or replaces a defective mattress at no cost. If your mattress has multiple components and only one is defective, Helix replaces the defective piece rather than the whole system.

YEARS 11 ONWARD: PRORATED. From year eleven you pay a share of the then-current retail price of the same model and size: 50% during years 11–15, 60% during years 16–20, rising in the bands after that. Note the base is current retail, not what you paid — if prices have risen, so has your share.

THE SAG THRESHOLD. A visible indentation greater than one and one-half (1.5) inches, provided it is not associated with an indentation or sag resulting from an improper or unsupportive foundation.

THE SLAT LIMIT. Any foundation, box spring, frame or other base with slats greater than 5.5 inches apart is considered improper and voids the limited lifetime warranty. That is the most generous published limit of the brands we compared, but it is still a hard limit.

WHAT IS EXCLUDED. Burns, cuts, tears, liquid damage or stains where these caused the defect. Warranties are non-transferable and apply to the original purchaser who bought from Helix or a Helix-authorised retailer; keep a copy of your receipt.

ARBITRATION. Helix's warranty requires disputes to be settled by binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's rules before other remedies are pursued. It is standard language in this category, but it is worth knowing it is there.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Helix lifetime warranty free forever?

No. It is free for ten years, then prorated — 50% of current retail in years 11–15 and 60% in years 16–20.

What slat spacing does Helix require?

No greater than 5.5 inches. Wider slats are treated as improper support and void the warranty.

Does Helix cover a single defective layer?

Yes. If only one component of a multi-part Helix sleep system is defective, Helix replaces that component rather than the whole system.
