The trade-off is that the first 30 nights are a mandatory adjustment period — Nectar asks you to sleep on the mattress for at least 30 nights before it will process a return, because foam softens and your body adapts over roughly the first month.
STEP 1 — WAIT OUT THE 30 NIGHTS. There is no way around this. If you call on night 12, you will be asked to keep sleeping. Use the time productively: keep a short sleep log noting how you wake up, where you feel pressure, and how hot you sleep. If the answers are still bad at night 30, they are unlikely to change at night 90.
STEP 2 — CONTACT NECTAR. Returns are opened through Nectar support, not through a self-service button. You can use chat on the site, call (888) 863-2827, or email support@nectarsleep.com. Have your order number ready — it is on the confirmation email.
STEP 3 — KEEP THE MATTRESS DONATABLE. This is the condition that trips people up. Nectar's returned mattresses go to donation, so the mattress has to be in a condition a charity can accept: no stains, no rips, no odour, no liquid damage. A $40 waterproof protector bought on day one is the cheapest insurance for a $1,000 refund.
STEP 4 — LET NECTAR ARRANGE COLLECTION. You do not box the mattress up and ship it back. Nectar coordinates the pickup or donation drop-off once the return is approved, and advertises free shipping and returns. Nectar does not publish a dollar return fee on its trial-policy page — if a support agent quotes one, ask for it in writing before you agree.
STEP 5 — WATCH FOR THE REFUND. Nectar does not publish a specific refund-timing window. Refunds normally go back to the original payment method after the mattress is collected, so keep the pickup confirmation email until the credit appears on your statement.
