Our Ratings
Our Review
The Sleepme Dock Pro (formerly ChiliPad) is a water-based mattress pad system that actively cools or heats each side of the bed from 55°F to 115°F. Its precise temperature scheduling and quiet operation make it the premium choice for hot sleepers, perimenopause night sweats, and couples who want individualized sleep climate control.
What We Love
- Precise temperature control (55°F–115°F)
- Very quiet compared to fan-based systems
- Dual-zone option for partners
- App scheduling for hot-flash-prone hours
- More energy-efficient than bedroom AC
Room for Improvement
- High upfront cost
- Water reservoir requires occasional cleaning
- Pad adds slight texture under sheets
- App connectivity can be finicky

Customer Reviews
Finally sleeping through the night
Set it to 64°F and I don't wake up sweating anymore. The scheduling feature starts cooling an hour before my usual hot flash window.
Expensive but worth it
Took a night to dial in the right temp. Once set, it's the best sleep investment I've made. Cleaning the reservoir monthly is annoying.
How Sleep Sage Evaluates Mattresses
When a mattress enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.
For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Lab Tested: This mattress completed our physical testing protocol. The measurements shown below come from that testing.
Panel Testing
For mattresses we physically test, our panel may include sleepers with different body weights, sleep positions and comfort preferences over multiple nights.
Pressure Mapping
For mattresses that enter our lab, our protocol may include pressure mapping to evaluate pressure distribution in side, back and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
For lab-tested mattresses, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors under controlled conditions (68°F room, 45% RH, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
For mattresses we physically test, edge support may be evaluated with standardized compression loads, while motion transfer may be measured from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
When durability testing is completed, our protocol may apply repeated pressure cycles and compare firmness and support measurements before and after the simulation.
Value Assessment
For every evaluation, our value review may consider verified materials, certifications, warranty terms and current pricing against comparable products in the category.
Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
