The Estes is the Mesa's taller sibling: same solid Maxwood construction, but with a full-height paneled headboard and more clearance underneath for storage bins. If you sit up in bed to read, the taller headboard is the reason to pay the difference. Like the Mesa it ships flat and bolts together, and the slat spacing is close enough that foam mattresses don't need an extra bunkie board.

Finally a headboard I can lean on
The panel is tall and solid, so reading upright is actually comfortable. Storage bins slide right under with room to spare.
Big — measure first
It's beautiful but it takes over my small bedroom visually. Build quality is excellent for the money; just check your ceiling and wall space.
No bunkie board needed
Slats are close together so my all-foam queen sits flat with no dip. Two of us built it in about 40 minutes.
