It's a true platform: the reinforced slat deck supports a mattress directly, and the center support legs keep a king from bowing. Assembly uses bolts and an included hex key rather than tool-free joinery, so budget half an hour, but the payoff is a frame that stays silent under a heavy hybrid.

You can tell it's real wood the second you lift a rail. Assembled it with my wife in about 35 minutes. Zero creaks with a king hybrid on top.
The clay finish is gorgeous
Warmer than the photos suggest and it hasn't scratched. Only complaint is the short return window — I'd have liked longer to decide.

About 500 lbs of combined load and there's no flex in the slats at all. Assembly instructions could be clearer about the center leg order.
