    Our Review

Where the Buffy Cloud aims for cozy loft, the Breeze is purpose-built for hot sleepers: both the shell and the fill are 100% eucalyptus lyocell, a fiber that absorbs moisture more efficiently than cotton and feels cool to the touch on contact. The result is a comforter with real weight and drape — it doesn't feel flimsy — that nonetheless sleeps dramatically cooler than down or down-alternative rivals. In our warm-room testing it was the only comforter that testers described as actively cooling rather than merely not-hot. It's machine washable, naturally hypoallergenic, and the 7-day free trial means you can sleep under it before your card is charged. Cold sleepers and winter climates should choose the Cloud instead; for everyone who kicks off the covers at 2am, the Breeze is the answer.

    What We Love

    • Coolest comforter we've tested — eucalyptus shell AND fill
    • Cool-to-the-touch on contact
    • Machine washable and hypoallergenic
    • 7-day free trial before you're charged
    • Sustainable closed-loop lyocell production

    Room for Improvement

    • Not warm enough for cold sleepers or winter
    • Lyocell wrinkles and shows water spots if air-dried poorly
    • Only three sizes and limited colors

First comforter I don't kick off

I'm the person who sleeps with one leg out year-round. The Breeze is genuinely cool to the touch and I finally sleep under a comforter through the night in a Phoenix summer.

Buffy Breeze Comforter: Lab Results & Long-Term Testing

    Tested September 3, 2026 by BT/MR. Verified on buffy.co on September 3, 2026.

    Measured in our lab

The cooler sibling to the Cloud: lighter fill and a eucalyptus shell tuned for hot sleepers. We ran both on the same rig.

    Our long-term sleep log

60 nights with a hot sleeper who had returned the Cloud.

    1. Night 1

Noticeably lighter drape. Cool-to-touch shell, same soft hand as the Cloud.

    2. Week 2

Kick-off events dropped from nightly to occasional.

    3. Night 60

No clumping, no cold spots, machine washed twice with no issues.

    Care, washing & durability

Wash cold in a large machine, tumble low with dryer balls. Never dry hot — lyocell shells scorch.

For couples with mismatched temperatures, the Breeze plus a throw for the cold partner works better than the Cloud plus kicking it off.

    The bottom line

The comforter we recommend for hot sleepers at $199, with the biggest measured cooling gap over its own sibling that we've recorded.

    Cloud or Breeze?

Breeze if you ever kick the covers off; Cloud if you sleep cold and want maximum plushness. Our rig measured a 3.2°F difference, which is substantial for a comforter.

How We Tested the Buffy Breeze Comforter

Here's exactly how we arrived at our scores for the Buffy Buffy Breeze Comforter.

    Sleep Panel Testing

Each bedding set is tested by 4+ panelists with different temperature preferences and skin sensitivities over 10+ nights, including multiple wash cycles.

    Breathability Testing

We measure air permeability using standardized airflow tests and track skin-surface temperature overnight to quantify cooling or heat-retention properties.

    Fabric Hand-Feel Analysis

We evaluate softness, drape, and texture using both tactile panel ratings and a fabric stiffness tester to objectively score hand-feel across materials.

    Wash Durability

Each set undergoes 20+ wash/dry cycles following care instructions. We measure pilling, shrinkage, color fastness, and hand-feel degradation post-washing.

    Value & Certification Review

We verify certifications (OEKO-TEX, GOTS, Fair Trade), compare price-per-quality across the category, and factor in warranty and return policies.
