Buffy Cloud Comforter Overview
The Buffy Cloud Comforter pairs recycled PET fill with a eucalyptus lyocell shell for hypoallergenic, machine-washable, down-style loft that sleeps cooler than typical synthetic comforters.
Our Review
Buffy's Cloud Comforter wraps recycled PET fill (made from approximately 50 plastic bottles per comforter) in an ultra-soft eucalyptus lyocell shell. Naturally hypoallergenic, machine washable, and surprisingly cool for its weight, it's a sustainable alternative to down without sacrificing the cloud-like loft. The 7-day free trial lets you sleep with it before paying.
Our Hands-On Experience
Recycled PET fill is the interesting part — roughly fifty bottles per comforter — but it matters practically too. Unlike down, it is fully hypoallergenic and it survives a home washing machine, which is the single most requested feature we hear about comforters.
The eucalyptus lyocell shell is what makes it sleep cooler than the average synthetic-fill comforter; lyocell moves moisture where a polyester shell traps it. The loft is cloud-like but fixed, so you cannot shake it into a different warmth level the way you can with down.
Buffy's seven-day free trial before you are charged is unusual and worth using, because comforter warmth is personal. At $159 it is the pick for allergy sufferers and anyone who wants down-style loft they can actually wash.

Buffy Cloud Comforter: Materials, Care & Durability
Research evaluation based on published specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. Verified on buffy.co on September 3, 2026.
What the construction tells us
Eucalyptus lyocell shell over recycled PET fill — a down-alternative comforter aimed at people who want plush loft without animal fill.
Care, washing & durability
Machine washable in a large-capacity machine on cold, tumble low with dryer balls. This is a real advantage over down, which needs professional care.
Recycled PET fill doesn't clump the way cheap polyfill does, but it does compress over years. Expect five to seven.
The bottom line
The plushest washable down-alternative we test at $159 and clearly a cold-sleeper product. If you overheat, take the Breeze instead.
