Casaluna Temperature Regulating Sheet Set Overview
Casaluna's Temperature Regulating Sheets put genuine 37.5 active-particle technology into lyocell for around $90 — the cheapest credible cooling sheet set, with a thinner hand feel than premium rivals.
Our Review
These Casaluna sheets use 37.5® active-particle technology embedded in lyocell fibers to dynamically regulate your body temperature. The fibers capture and release heat to maintain the ideal microclimate next to your skin. At Target's price point, these offer cooling performance that rivals sheets costing three times as much.
Our Hands-On Experience
37.5 technology embeds active particles in the fiber that respond to body humidity, moving moisture vapor away before it becomes sweat. It is a real, measurable mechanism rather than a coating, and at $90 it is by far the cheapest way to get it in a sheet set.
Lyocell is the right carrier fiber for it — sustainably produced, smooth, and naturally moisture-managing on its own. Together they made a set that our warm-sleeping testers rated close to sheets costing twice as much.
The hand feel is where the price shows: at 300 thread count they read thinner than premium sets, the sateen finish is slippery for some sleepers, and colors are limited. Buy them for cooling performance per dollar and easy Target returns, not for luxury feel.

Great cooling for the price
These won't feel like $300 sheets but the temperature regulation is real. I wake up dry for the first time in years.
Casaluna Temperature Regulating Sheet Set: Lab Results & Long-Term Testing
Tested September 3, 2026 by BT/MR. Verified on target.com on September 3, 2026.
Measured in our lab
A $90 sheet set claiming active temperature regulation. We tested the claim against the brand's own plain percale.
| Metric | Result | Category avg. | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Surface temp rise (60 min) | 4.4°F | 5.2°F | Measurably cooler than the standard Casaluna percale, though not dramatically. |
| Cool-touch duration | 6 min | 3 min | Real, brief. Helpful for falling asleep, not for the whole night. |
| Humidity at contact patch (60 min) | 51% RH | 58% RH | Good wicking for the price. |
| Shrinkage after 5 washes | 3.6% | 3.5% | Average. |
Our long-term sleep log
60 nights and five washes with a hot sleeper who also tested the standard Casaluna percale.
Night 1
Cool on contact, smoother hand than the plain percale.
Week 2
Fewer kick-the-covers-off wake-ups than the standard set, per the tester's log.
Night 60
Cooling behavior survived five washes intact.
Care, washing & durability
Wash warm, tumble low, no fabric softener — softener coats the fiber finish and is the main way people lose the cooling effect.
At this price the finish is doing the work, not exotic fiber. Expect three to four years before the cooling fades with wear.
The bottom line
Genuine, modest cooling for $90. Not in SHEEX or bamboo territory, but the cheapest measurable cooling upgrade we found.
How Sleep Sage Evaluates Bedding
When a bedding set enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.
For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Lab Tested: This bedding set completed our physical testing protocol. The measurements published for it come from that testing.
Sleep Panel Testing
For bedding we physically test, our panel may include sleepers with different temperature preferences and skin sensitivities over multiple nights and wash cycles.
Breathability Testing
For bedding that enters our lab, our protocol may include standardized airflow and overnight skin-surface temperature measurements.
Fabric Hand-Feel Analysis
For physically tested bedding, softness, drape and texture may be evaluated through panel feedback and fabric-stiffness measurements.
Wash Durability
When wash durability is tested, our protocol may compare pilling, shrinkage, color fastness and hand-feel before and after repeated care cycles.
Value & Certification Review
For every evaluation, our value review may verify applicable certifications and compare price, warranty and return policies across the category.
Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
