Rest Evercool+ Cooling Starter Sheet Set Overview
Rest Evercool+ sheets feature IONIC+ silver yarn technology for active cooling and antimicrobial protection. Our thermal testing confirmed a measurable 4°F temperature reduction versus cotton, making them the top choice for hot sleepers.
Our Review
Winner of the 2025 Health Sleep Award, Rest's Evercool+ sheets are engineered for hot sleepers. The proprietary IONIC+ silver yarn technology provides antimicrobial benefits and a cool-to-the-touch surface that actively regulates temperature throughout the night.
Our Hands-On Experience
Rest's Evercool+ sheets represent a new category of 'engineered bedding' — these aren't just fabric, they're a cooling system. The IONIC+ silver yarn technology creates a surface that feels genuinely cold to the touch, not just 'not warm.' In our side-by-side thermal testing, they measured 4°F cooler than standard cotton sheets.
The antimicrobial silver yarn is scientifically backed. Silver has natural antibacterial properties, and Rest's third-party testing shows significant bacteria reduction compared to untreated fabrics. For allergy sufferers and those concerned about hygiene between washes, this is a meaningful benefit.
As a newer brand, Rest doesn't have the decades of reputation that Brooklinen or Boll & Branch carry. However, winning the 2025 Health Sleep Award from a panel of sleep scientists lends significant credibility. The technology genuinely works — this isn't just marketing.
The limited size options (no Twin or Twin XL) and shorter trial period (30 days) are downsides. But for hot sleepers specifically, these are the most effective cooling sheets I've tested. The $159 price point is reasonable for the technology involved.

Actually cool to the touch!
Unlike other 'cooling' sheets that are just breathable, these actually feel cool when you touch them.

Rest Evercool+ Cooling Starter Sheet Set: Lab Results & Long-Term Testing
Tested September 3, 2026 by BT/MR. Verified on rest.com on September 3, 2026.
Measured in our lab
An engineered performance fabric rather than a natural fiber, built around active heat transfer instead of breathability.
| Metric | Result | Category avg. | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airflow (CFM) | 38 | 48 | Below average — this fabric isn't trying to move air. |
| Contact temperature drop on touch | −4.1°F | −1.6°F | The strongest instant-cool sensation we measure. It's striking on first contact. |
| Time to return to cool after body contact | 2.6 min | 5.4 min | It resets fast, so moving a leg to a cool spot actually works. |
| Moisture dispersion (0.2 ml) | 9 sec | 26 sec | Best in our set. Synthetic performance fibers wick faster than any natural fiber. |
| Pilling after 10 washes | None visible | Light | Synthetics hold up well to washing. |
Our long-term sleep log
Six months with a tester on hot flashes, alternating against the Cozy Earth set.
Week 1
The initial cool is dramatic. Feel is technical, not cotton-like — closer to athletic wear.
Month 2
Best-performing sheet for hot flashes in the house, ahead of both bamboo sets.
Month 6
No pilling, no fading. The cooling sensation is undiminished.
Care, washing & durability
Wash cold, tumble low or line dry, and skip fabric softener — softener coats performance fibers and kills the wicking that you paid for.
This is a synthetic. If your reason for shopping is natural materials or organic certification, this is the wrong product regardless of the numbers.
The bottom line
The most aggressive cooling sheet we test: −4.1°F on contact, 9-second wicking, 2.6-minute reset. Buy it for hot flashes and night sweats; skip it if you want a natural-fiber bed.
How Sleep Sage Evaluates Bedding
When a bedding set enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.
For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Lab Tested: This bedding set completed our physical testing protocol. The measurements published for it come from that testing.
Sleep Panel Testing
For bedding we physically test, our panel may include sleepers with different temperature preferences and skin sensitivities over multiple nights and wash cycles.
Breathability Testing
For bedding that enters our lab, our protocol may include standardized airflow and overnight skin-surface temperature measurements.
Fabric Hand-Feel Analysis
For physically tested bedding, softness, drape and texture may be evaluated through panel feedback and fabric-stiffness measurements.
Wash Durability
When wash durability is tested, our protocol may compare pilling, shrinkage, color fastness and hand-feel before and after repeated care cycles.
Value & Certification Review
For every evaluation, our value review may verify applicable certifications and compare price, warranty and return policies across the category.
Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
