For those who love the classic feel of a traditional down pillow, Avocado's Down Luxurious Pillow delivers with 600-fill power responsibly sourced down wrapped in a silky organic cotton sateen cover. It offers that signature cloud-like sink-in feel while maintaining ethical sourcing standards.
Our Hands-On Experience
600-fill power is the sweet spot for a sleeping pillow rather than a decorative one: enough loft to feel luxurious, enough fill weight to keep some structure under the head. The organic cotton sateen shell is genuinely nice — the pillow feels like the ones in a good hotel, because it is built the same way.
Breathability is the underrated advantage. Down moves air, so this ran cooler in our testing than every foam pillow we compared it against, including gel-infused ones. Hot sleepers who assume down means heat are usually reacting to synthetic down alternatives instead.
It requires fluffing, it will not support a heavy head on its own, and it is off the table if you react to down. At $189 buy it for the classic plush sink-in feel over a supportive mattress — not as a fix for neck pain, where the Avocado Green Side Sleeper or a latex pillow does far more.

Care, washing & durability
Machine washable on gentle with a low tumble dry and wool balls; over-washing is the main way people ruin down. Twice a year is plenty with a pillow protector in place.
Down outlives synthetic fill by years if it's kept dry. Store it uncompressed.

The right pillow for stomach sleepers and anyone who wants to sculpt their pillow every night. Side sleepers who need support should buy the Talalay or molded latex version instead.
