Our Review
Avocado's most popular pillow combines shredded organic Dunlop latex with kapok tree fiber in a zippered, adjustable design. GOTS and GOLS certified, it lets you add or remove fill for a custom loft. The organic cotton cover is breathable and naturally moisture-wicking.
Our Hands-On Experience
The kapok-and-latex blend is what makes this pillow work. Pure shredded latex clumps and feels rubbery; kapok is a silky plant fiber that fills the gaps and gives the loft a softer, more down-like top. The result is an organic pillow that does not feel like a compromise.
Adjustability is genuine, not token. We removed roughly a fifth of the fill for a back-sleeping tester and the loft dropped enough to stop the chin-to-chest tilt that causes morning neck ache. Keep the removed fill in a bag — you will want to fine-tune again after a few weeks of settling.
Two things to expect at $159: a distinct natural latex smell for the first three or four days, and real weight — this pillow is noticeably heavier than a fiber one. GOTS and GOLS certification plus a 100-night trial make it the pillow we recommend first to chemically sensitive sleepers.

Care, washing & durability
The organic cotton cover is machine washable cold; the latex fill is not — heat and agitation break latex down. Store the removed fill in the bag Avocado ships so you can add it back if your needs change.
GOTS and GOLS certification is the real differentiator here. If your reason for shopping is avoiding polyurethane foam entirely, this and the Saatva Latex are the two adjustable options that qualify.
