    The Snorinator Overview

The Snorinator is a structured positional-therapy pillow that holds the head and upper spine semi-upright to keep the airway open. It helps positional snorers; persistent snoring in every position warrants clinical assessment.

    Our Review

The Snorinator takes a completely different approach to snoring: instead of propping your head on a conventional pillow, it holds your entire upper body in a slightly upright, reclined position — the same posture doctors recommend for keeping airways open and reducing positional snoring and mild sleep apnea symptoms. The patented design is a sculpted high-density memory foam frame with an integrated headrest that cradles your neck and prevents you from rolling onto your back with your chin dropped, which is when most snoring occurs. It comes in three sizes matched to your height, which matters — a proper fit keeps the cervical spine aligned rather than just tilting the head forward. In testing, it worked best for positional snorers and back sleepers who snore primarily when flat; dedicated side sleepers found the upright posture took a week or two to adapt to. It's firm by design — this is a positional therapy device, not a plush pillow — and the upright angle also earns it fans among acid reflux and GERD sufferers who'd otherwise need a wedge. At $159.99 it costs more than a wedge pillow, but the contoured support is substantially more comfortable for all-night use.

    Our Hands-On Experience

The Snorinator is a positional therapy device shaped like a pillow. Its structured high-density foam and integrated headrest hold the head and upper spine in a semi-upright posture that keeps the airway more open than a flat pillow allows — the same mechanism behind advice to sleep elevated if you snore.

It only helps positional snorers, which is a large but not universal group. If your snoring is largely gone when you sleep on your side or propped up, this is the category of product that addresses it. If it persists in every position, it points to obstructive sleep apnea and warrants a clinical assessment rather than a pillow purchase.

It is firm, structured and unlike any conventional pillow, so expect an adjustment period of a week or more. At roughly $160 it is a targeted device — buy it for the snoring problem, not for general comfort.

    What We Love

    • Upright inclined posture keeps airways open — directly targets positional snoring
    • Integrated headrest cradles the neck and prevents chin-drop
    • Three height-based sizes for proper cervical alignment
    • Doubles as a reflux/GERD solution — similar angle to a wedge, more comfortable
    • High-density memory foam holds its structure night after night
    • Removable, machine-washable cover
    • Non-invasive alternative for people who can't tolerate mouthguards or CPAP

    Room for Improvement

    • Firm, structured feel — not a plush comfort pillow
    • 1–2 week adjustment period, especially for side sleepers
    • Pricier than a basic wedge pillow
    • Only a 30-night trial — shorter than most pillow brands
    • Bulky — takes up significant space on the bed and travels poorly
    • Not a treatment for moderate-to-severe sleep apnea

    Best For

Positional snorers who snore mainly when lying flat on their backBack sleepers wanting an anti-snore posture trainerAcid reflux / GERD sufferers who need to sleep elevatedPost-surgical or congestion relief where upright sleeping is advisedPeople who've failed with mouthguards, nasal strips, or side-sleep devices

Wife says the snoring is 90% gone

I've tried mouthguards, strips, and a wedge. This is the first thing that actually worked all night. Took about ten days to get used to sleeping upright, but now I can't sleep flat — and my wife sleeps through the night for the first time in years.

    Great for my reflux too

Bought it for snoring but the reflux benefit sold me. No more midnight heartburn. It's firm — don't expect a fluffy hotel pillow — but the headrest makes it far more comfortable than my old wedge.

    Works, but be patient

As a lifelong side sleeper the first week was rough. Once I adjusted, the snoring improvement was real according to my sleep app. Wish the trial was longer than 30 days given the adjustment period.

How We Tested the The Snorinator

Every pillow we review goes through our rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. Here's exactly how we arrived at our scores for the Snorinator The Snorinator.

    Multi-Position Testing

Each pillow is tested by panelists in side, back, and stomach sleeping positions. We measure loft, compression, and neck alignment across body types.

    Loft & Support Mapping

We measure initial loft, compressed loft under a standardized head weight, and rebound time to quantify support consistency throughout the night.

    Temperature Regulation

Surface temperature is tracked with thermal sensors over 6 hours to evaluate cooling claims and heat retention for different fill materials.

    Shape Retention Testing

We simulate 6 months of use with 5,000 compression cycles and measure loft loss, clumping, and fill migration to project long-term performance.

    Hypoallergenic & Value Review

We verify hypoallergenic claims, assess cover removability and washability, check certifications, and compare price-to-quality within the pillow category.
