Our Review
Avocado's weighted blanket uses glass beads rather than plastic pellets for weight, enclosed in a GOTS-certified organic cotton sateen shell. Available in 15, 20, and 25 lb options, it provides deep pressure stimulation to help reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality.
Our Hands-On Experience
Glass beads versus plastic pellets is a meaningful spec, not a marketing line. Glass is denser, so you need less volume for the same weight, which makes the blanket thinner, quieter and cooler than pellet-filled equivalents. Ours made almost no sound when shifted.
Pick weight by body weight, not by preference: roughly 10% of your body weight is the standard guidance, which puts most adults on the 15 or 20 lb version. The 25 lb option is for larger frames and is genuinely difficult to reposition.
The pocket-grid construction kept the fill evenly distributed through testing, but the blanket is too heavy for most home washers — plan on a laundromat or a duvet cover. At $199 it is a premium price justified mainly by the GOTS organic shell.

Standard guidance is roughly 10% of body weight. Going heavier does not improve the effect and makes overheating worse.

An evenly-weighted, home-washable blanket in breathable organic cotton at $199. It still sleeps warm — that's physics, not a flaw in this product.
