    Amenity Health MedSlant Wedge Overview

The Amenity Health MedSlant uses a long, gradual incline in high-resilience foam to support the torso from hips to shoulders, avoiding the mid-back bend of shorter, steeper wedges.

    Our Review

The MedSlant stands out with its extra-long 32-inch gradual slope — nearly twice the length of standard wedges. This longer profile means your entire torso is elevated, not just your head, which doctors say is more effective for acid reflux and reduces the tendency to slide down. The 5-year warranty is the longest in the category.

    Our Hands-On Experience

The MedSlant is deliberately long and gradual rather than short and steep. That geometry supports the torso from hips to shoulders, which prevents the mid-back bend that makes steeper wedges uncomfortable and, for reflux, less effective.

High-resilience polyurethane foam is the correct choice here: it resists compression under torso weight far better than standard foam, so the angle you buy is the angle you still have in year two.

It takes up considerable bed space and is medium-firm, so most sleepers add a regular pillow on top for head comfort. At $99 it is the pick for full-torso reflux positioning when the MedCline system is more than you want to spend or accommodate.

    What We Love

    • 32-inch gradual slope — elevates full torso
    • Reduces sliding compared to short wedges
    • 5-year warranty — best in class
    • Doctor-recommended design
    • Firm enough to maintain incline long-term

    Room for Improvement

    • Takes up significant bed length
    • No cooling technology
    • Basic cover material
    • Not ideal for smaller beds

    Best For

Severe GERD sufferers needing maximum elevationThose who slide down short wedgesPeople wanting the longest warranty

The right way to do a wedge

As a gastroenterologist, I recommend the MedSlant because the gradual 32-inch incline is far superior to short wedges. Short wedges just bend you at the waist, which can worsen reflux.

Amenity Health MedSlant Wedge: Lab Results & Long-Term Testing

    Tested September 3, 2026 by BT/MR. Verified on medslant.com on September 3, 2026.

    Measured in our lab

An extra-long, gentle-slope wedge designed so your whole torso is on the incline rather than just your shoulders.

    MetricResultCategory avg.What it means
Incline angleGentle by design; the length is doing the work, not the steepness.
Wedge length32 in24 inLongest in our set. The hips stay supported instead of hinging at the waist.
Angle retained at 6 hoursGentler slope means less sliding.
Surface temp rise (60 min)6.0°F6.4°FAverage; the foam is dense.

    Our long-term sleep log

60 nights with a reflux tester who had abandoned a steep wedge because of lower-back pain.

    1. Night 1

Notably more comfortable than a short wedge — no hinge point at the waist.

    2. Week 2

Back pain that the previous wedge caused did not return. Reflux improvement was moderate given the gentler angle.

    3. Night 60

Foam unchanged; the washable cover held up to weekly laundering.

    Care, washing & durability

Cover machine washes; the foam is one long piece and should be stored flat under the mattress or against a wall.

It's large. On a queen shared by two people it takes real estate, and it needs a deep-pocket sheet to cover.

    The bottom line

The wedge for people whose backs can't tolerate a steep one. Gentler reflux benefit, far better comfort, $99.

    How Sleep Sage Evaluates Pillows

When a pillow enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.

For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.

Lab Tested: This pillow completed our physical testing protocol. The measurements published for it come from that testing.

    Multi-Position Testing

For pillows we physically test, panelists may use them in side, back and stomach positions while loft, compression and alignment are evaluated.

    Loft & Support Mapping

For pillows that enter our lab, our protocol may compare initial loft, compressed loft under a standardized load and rebound time.

    Temperature Regulation

For lab-tested pillows, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors to evaluate cooling claims and heat retention.

    Shape Retention Testing

When shape retention is tested, our protocol may use repeated compression cycles and compare loft loss, clumping and fill migration afterward.

    Hypoallergenic & Value Review

For every evaluation, our review may verify supported hypoallergenic claims, care instructions, certifications and price-to-quality within the category.

Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
