The MedSlant stands out with its extra-long 32-inch gradual slope — nearly twice the length of standard wedges. This longer profile means your entire torso is elevated, not just your head, which doctors say is more effective for acid reflux and reduces the tendency to slide down. The 5-year warranty is the longest in the category.
Our Hands-On Experience
The MedSlant is deliberately long and gradual rather than short and steep. That geometry supports the torso from hips to shoulders, which prevents the mid-back bend that makes steeper wedges uncomfortable and, for reflux, less effective.
High-resilience polyurethane foam is the correct choice here: it resists compression under torso weight far better than standard foam, so the angle you buy is the angle you still have in year two.
It takes up considerable bed space and is medium-firm, so most sleepers add a regular pillow on top for head comfort. At $99 it is the pick for full-torso reflux positioning when the MedCline system is more than you want to spend or accommodate.

The right way to do a wedge
As a gastroenterologist, I recommend the MedSlant because the gradual 32-inch incline is far superior to short wedges. Short wedges just bend you at the waist, which can worsen reflux.
