MedCline Acid Reflux Relief System
FDA-cleared therapeutic body pillow system for nighttime acid reflux
Memory foam + polyurethane wedge
A wedge pillow raises your whole torso instead of just your head, which is the difference between propping up and actually changing sleeping angle. Height and slope length matter more than brand: too short and you bend at the neck, too steep and you slide down the incline all night.
Roughly 7 in gives a gentle incline for congestion and reading; 10-12 in gives the steeper angle people use for reflux
7 in vs 12 in is a big gapA long, gradual ramp supports the whole torso. A short wedge concentrates the bend at your neck and defeats the purpose
Longer ramp, better supportLow-density foam collapses under torso weight within months, quietly reducing the angle you bought it for
Firm base layer required💡 Expert Tip: If you are using a wedge for reflux, sleep on your left side on the incline rather than flat on your back. Anatomy puts the stomach below the esophageal junction in that position, which is why left-side elevation is the combination most often recommended. Talk to your clinician about persistent symptoms; this is general information, not medical advice.

Most reflux wedges are 10-12 inches tall with a long gradual ramp so the whole torso is elevated rather than only the head. Shorter 7-inch wedges are aimed at congestion, snoring, and reading. Symptoms that persist deserve a conversation with your clinician.
Nightly use is common and generally comfortable if the wedge supports the full torso and your neck stays neutral. Problems come from short wedges that bend the neck or from sliding down a steep incline, both of which cause morning stiffness.
Choose a longer ramp and a slightly lower angle, add a knee bolster to anchor your hips, and use a grippy or textured cover. A pillow between the wedge and the headboard also stops the whole wedge from shifting.
A thin one, yes, mostly to soften the surface. Stacking a full-loft pillow on a wedge pushes your chin toward your chest and can worsen both snoring and neck pain.
