The Avana Contoured Bed Wedge features an ergonomic shape with a built-in headrest notch that cradles your head instead of letting it fall forward. The dual-layer construction combines gel memory foam on top for comfort with a supportive base foam. The bamboo-blend cover is soft and breathable.
Our Hands-On Experience
The headrest notch solves the flaw in flat wedges: without it, your head tips forward at the top of the incline and you wake with neck strain rather than reflux. The contour cradles the skull so the cervical spine stays neutral on the slope.
Dual-layer construction gives it a more forgiving surface than the firm-foam budget wedges — gel memory foam on top for contact comfort, denser base foam underneath to hold the angle. The bamboo-blend cover breathes reasonably well.
It is medium-firm rather than plush, and the fixed shape means you cannot repurpose it as a general pillow. At $89 it is the wedge we recommend for people whose main complaint about incline sleeping was neck discomfort rather than heat.
