Helix Wedge Pillow Overview
The Helix Wedge Pillow pairs a 10-inch gradual incline with gel memory foam and a GlacioTex cooling cover — the coolest-running wedge in our testing — backed by a 100-night trial.
Our Review
The Helix Wedge Pillow provides a comfortable 10-inch incline using premium gel memory foam that doesn't flatten over time. The GlacioTex cooling cover keeps the surface cool — important since elevated sleeping can cause warmth. At $109 with a 100-night trial, it's the best value wedge pillow for acid reflux and snoring.
Our Hands-On Experience
The 10-inch incline is the useful height for reflux and post-nasal drip — high enough to matter, gentle enough that you do not slide down it by morning. Cheaper wedges are often steeper and shorter, which produces exactly that sliding problem.
Gel memory foam plus the GlacioTex cover addresses the complaint that ruins most wedges: elevated sleeping increases contact area, which increases heat. This was the coolest-running wedge in our comparison, and it was not close.
A 100-night trial for a wedge is unusually generous, and it matters because incline sleeping is something you either adapt to or do not. At $109 it is the best all-round wedge, with the Brentwood Zuma the budget pick and MedCline the choice for severe nightly reflux.
What We Love
- Gel memory foam stays cool and supportive
- GlacioTex cooling cover
- 100-night trial — longest in the category
- Gradual incline reduces sliding
- Great value under $110
Room for Improvement
- Single firmness option
- May be too soft for some
- Not a full body system like MedCline
- Standard size only

Best cooling wedge pillow
I tried 3 wedge pillows before this one. The cooling cover is a real differentiator — other wedges made me sweat. Great incline angle too.
Helix Wedge Pillow: Lab Results & Long-Term Testing
Tested September 3, 2026 by BT/MR. Verified on helixsleep.com on September 3, 2026.
Measured in our lab
A memory-foam wedge with a gel-infused top, aimed at reflux, snoring and post-surgery elevation.
| Metric | Result | Category avg. | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incline angle | 9° | 8° | A moderate slope that most people tolerate on night one. |
| Angle retained at 6 hours | 5° | 4° | Sliding down is the universal wedge problem and this one is no exception. |
| Surface temp rise (60 min) | 5.9°F | 6.4°F | The gel top is a real but modest improvement over plain foam. |
| Compression set after 60 nights | 6% | 10% | Held its slope well. |
Our long-term sleep log
60 nights with a snorer and a partner logging snoring episodes.
Night 1
Comfortable immediately — the gentler slope is easier to adopt than a steep wedge.
Week 2
Partner-logged snoring episodes down about a third. Reflux tester saw a smaller improvement.
Night 60
Foam still firm; cover washed three times with no shrinkage.
Care, washing & durability
The cover unzips and machine washes cold. Don't fold the wedge for storage — foam takes a set at the crease.
Add a regular pillow on top for head support; a wedge alone under-supports the neck for side sleepers.
The bottom line
A comfortable, well-made general-purpose wedge at $109. If reflux is the specific problem and a plain wedge has already failed you, the MedCline system holds position far better.
How Sleep Sage Evaluates Pillows
When a pillow enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.
For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Lab Tested: This pillow completed our physical testing protocol. The measurements published for it come from that testing.
Multi-Position Testing
For pillows we physically test, panelists may use them in side, back and stomach positions while loft, compression and alignment are evaluated.
Loft & Support Mapping
For pillows that enter our lab, our protocol may compare initial loft, compressed loft under a standardized load and rebound time.
Temperature Regulation
For lab-tested pillows, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors to evaluate cooling claims and heat retention.
Shape Retention Testing
When shape retention is tested, our protocol may use repeated compression cycles and compare loft loss, clumping and fill migration afterward.
Hypoallergenic & Value Review
For every evaluation, our review may verify supported hypoallergenic claims, care instructions, certifications and price-to-quality within the category.
