Puffy's topper is the rare one that offers a firm option, and that alone makes it useful. Most toppers exist to soften a bed; the 6.5/10 Firm build adds surface structure to a mattress that has gone too plush at the top — a genuine stopgap while you plan a replacement.
The Soft version at 3.5/10 behaves conventionally: gel memory foam over responsive support foam, contouring at the shoulder and hip with a slower recovery. It is well suited to lighter side sleepers.
Cooling is average — the gel layer helps at the surface but the support foam underneath still insulates. At $229 the value case rests on picking the right firmness for your actual problem, so decide first whether you need softening or shoring up.
