Brentwood Home Zuma Foam Wedge Overview
The Brentwood Home Zuma Foam Wedge comes in 7, 10 and 12-inch heights with firm CertiPUR-US foam that holds its incline. It is the value pick for occasional reflux, reading and recovery use.
Our Review
The Brentwood Home Zuma Foam Wedge is a versatile, affordable wedge pillow available in three heights. The CertiPUR-US certified foam is firm and supportive, maintaining its shape over time. It's the best budget option for acid reflux, and the multiple height options let you choose the right elevation for your needs.
Our Hands-On Experience
Three height options is the reason to choose this over other budget wedges. Seven inches suits reading and mild reflux, ten is the general-purpose reflux height, twelve is for post-surgery recovery or severe symptoms. Buying the wrong height is the most common wedge mistake.
The CertiPUR-US foam is firm and holds its shape, which is exactly right for a wedge — soft foam collapses under the torso and destroys the incline within weeks. The trade-off is that it feels hard until you add a pillow on top.
There is no cooling technology and the basic cover is slippery enough that you will want a pillowcase over it. At $60 it is the value benchmark, and for occasional rather than nightly use it is all most people need.

Best value wedge pillow
At $60 you can't beat this. I got the 10-inch and it eliminated my nighttime heartburn. It's firm but that's what you need to avoid sliding down.
Brentwood Home Zuma Foam Wedge: Lab Results & Long-Term Testing
Tested September 3, 2026 by BT/MR. Verified on brentwoodhome.com on September 3, 2026.
Measured in our lab
The value wedge, available in multiple heights. We tested the 10-inch version, which is the most commonly bought.
| Metric | Result | Category avg. | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incline angle (10 in version) | 11° | 8° | Steeper than most. Effective for reflux, harder to adapt to. |
| Angle retained at 6 hours | 4° | 4° | Sliding is pronounced at this slope without a body pillow to brace against. |
| Surface temp rise (60 min) | 6.4°F | 6.4°F | Plain polyfoam with a bamboo-rayon cover; no cooling advantage. |
| Compression set after 60 nights | 8% | 10% | CertiPUR-US foam held up acceptably. |
Our long-term sleep log
60 nights split between a reflux tester and a post-shoulder-surgery tester who needed elevation.
Night 1
Steep. The surgery tester loved it; the reflux tester found it too aggressive at first.
Week 2
Both adapted. Sliding down mid-night was the main complaint, addressed by adding a knee bolster.
Night 60
Slight softening at the head end; slope essentially intact.
Care, washing & durability
Removable bamboo-rayon cover machine washes. Store it flat, never folded.
Choose the height carefully — 7 inches for gentle elevation, 10 for reflux, 12 for recovery. It's the single decision that determines whether you keep it.
The bottom line
The best budget wedge at $60 and the easiest to size correctly thanks to multiple heights. No cooling and the usual slide-down issue.
How Sleep Sage Evaluates Pillows
When a pillow enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.
For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Lab Tested: This pillow completed our physical testing protocol. The measurements published for it come from that testing.
Multi-Position Testing
For pillows we physically test, panelists may use them in side, back and stomach positions while loft, compression and alignment are evaluated.
Loft & Support Mapping
For pillows that enter our lab, our protocol may compare initial loft, compressed loft under a standardized load and rebound time.
Temperature Regulation
For lab-tested pillows, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors to evaluate cooling claims and heat retention.
Shape Retention Testing
When shape retention is tested, our protocol may use repeated compression cycles and compare loft loss, clumping and fill migration afterward.
Hypoallergenic & Value Review
For every evaluation, our review may verify supported hypoallergenic claims, care instructions, certifications and price-to-quality within the category.
Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
