TEMPUR CPAP Pillow Overview
The TEMPUR CPAP Pillow uses dense TEMPUR material so its mask cutouts hold shape for years rather than months, with engineered cervical support. It is the premium long-term CPAP option.
Our Review
Tempur-Pedic brings their legendary TEMPUR material to CPAP users with a pillow featuring deep mask cutouts and a contoured shape for optimal cervical support. The premium foam adapts to your head and neck shape while the CPAP-friendly design accommodates all mask types. It's the most luxurious option in the CPAP pillow category.
Our Hands-On Experience
TEMPUR material is denser and slower-responding than the generic memory foam used in most CPAP pillows, and that changes the experience: the mask cutouts hold their shape under load instead of collapsing around the mask as cheaper foam does after a few months.
Cervical support is the other advantage. The contour is engineered rather than stamped, and back sleepers with neck stiffness reported the clearest improvement in our testing group.
It is the most expensive CPAP pillow at $129, it sleeps warm without a cooling cover, and it is heavy enough to be a poor travel pillow. Buy it if CPAP is long-term therapy for you and you want a pillow that will still hold its cutouts in year three.
What We Love
- Premium TEMPUR material for unmatched comfort
- Deep cutouts accommodate all CPAP masks
- Excellent durability — lasts 3-5 years
- Superior neck and head support
- Trusted brand with proven track record
Room for Improvement
- Most expensive CPAP pillow option
- Firmer feel not for everyone
- Can sleep warm without cooling cover
- Heavy — not travel-friendly

Worth the premium price
I've tried 4 CPAP pillows and this is by far the most comfortable. The TEMPUR foam is in a different league. My neck pain is gone and my mask stays put.
TEMPUR CPAP Pillow: Lab Results & Long-Term Testing
Tested September 3, 2026 by BT/MR. Verified on tempurpedic.com on September 3, 2026.
Measured in our lab
TEMPUR material shaped with mask channels — dense, slow-responding foam with the cutouts molded rather than cut.
| Metric | Result | Category avg. | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loft | 5.1 in | 5.0 in | Fixed loft, medium-high. Suits average-to-broad side sleepers. |
| Side cutout depth | 2.1 in | 1.9 in | Clears most full-face masks. |
| Response time | 5.4 sec | 2.1 sec | Slow TEMPUR rebound. It molds around the mask frame rather than pushing back against it. |
| Surface temp rise (60 min) | 7.0°F | 6.4°F | Warmest CPAP pillow we measured. Dense foam stores heat. |
Our long-term sleep log
60 nights with a full-face mask user who values a steady mask position over temperature.
Night 1
Firm in a cool room, softened with body heat within 20 minutes.
Week 2
The slow foam holds the mask position better than the springier options — fewest reseat events after the CPAPMax.
Night 60
No permanent impressions; TEMPUR foam is dense.
Care, washing & durability
Removable washable cover; the core is wipe-clean only. Keep it out of the sun to avoid discoloring the foam.
Five-year warranty and TEMPUR's usual durability. The trade is heat, which no cover fully solves.
The bottom line
The deepest-moulding foam in our CPAP set, and the warmest surface. At $129 it is for full-face mask users who do not sleep hot.
How Sleep Sage Evaluates Pillows
When a pillow enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.
For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Lab Tested: This pillow completed our physical testing protocol. The measurements published for it come from that testing.
Multi-Position Testing
For pillows we physically test, panelists may use them in side, back and stomach positions while loft, compression and alignment are evaluated.
Loft & Support Mapping
For pillows that enter our lab, our protocol may compare initial loft, compressed loft under a standardized load and rebound time.
Temperature Regulation
For lab-tested pillows, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors to evaluate cooling claims and heat retention.
Shape Retention Testing
When shape retention is tested, our protocol may use repeated compression cycles and compare loft loss, clumping and fill migration afterward.
Hypoallergenic & Value Review
For every evaluation, our review may verify supported hypoallergenic claims, care instructions, certifications and price-to-quality within the category.
Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
