Our Hands-On Experience
Swapping the wool quilting for GOTS organic cotton batting changes the feel more than most shoppers expect. Cotton batting compresses flatter and faster than wool, so the surface reads a touch firmer and slightly less cushioned out of the box. The GOLS latex core underneath is unchanged.
Because cotton does not buffer moisture the way wool does, we would pair this with a breathable protector if you sweat at night. Hot sleepers still did fine — latex itself is open-celled and does not trap heat — but the surface felt damper in humid conditions than the wool-quilted version.
At $399 it is the least expensive Avocado latex topper, which makes it a reasonable entry point even for buyers who are not vegan. Choose it for the price and the wool-free construction; choose the standard Eco Organic if temperature and moisture control are your priority.
