The TEMPUR-Topper Supreme brings genuine 3-inch TEMPUR material to an existing mattress, producing the closest thing to a Tempur-Pedic feel without buying one. It sleeps warm and is slow to respond.
Our Hands-On Experience
TEMPUR material behaves differently from generic memory foam: it responds slowly and deliberately, and it is denser than nearly anything else in the topper category. On a firm mattress the 3-inch Supreme produces the closest approximation of an actual Tempur-Pedic bed you can buy without replacing the mattress.
That density is also the main caveat. It sleeps warmer than latex or AirFoam alternatives, and the slow response makes repositioning feel effortful — combination sleepers who flip often noticed it within the first few nights.
At $399 it is priced like a mattress component rather than an accessory, but durability justifies it: our test unit showed no measurable body impression after six months, where budget memory foam toppers routinely develop one within eight weeks. Buy it if you specifically want the Tempur feel and you are not a hot sleeper.

Our long-term sleep log
60 nights on a firm hybrid, with a side sleeper who found the base mattress too hard.
Night 1
Two days of foam smell. Firmer than expected until it warmed to body temperature — TEMPUR is temperature sensitive.
Week 1
Hip and shoulder pressure resolved. Overheating became the complaint by night four.
Week 4
Tester switched to percale sheets and a cooling protector, which partly offset the heat.
Night 60
No permanent body impression.
Care, washing & durability
The cover is removable and machine washable; the TEMPUR core is spot clean only and cannot be submerged or dry-cleaned.
The 10-year warranty is the longest in this round and matches the mattresses. Nothing in our data suggests the foam will fail early — heat, not durability, is the reason people return this.
The bottom line
The most transformative topper we test: it makes a firm bed genuinely plush. It is also the hottest, at a 6.5°F rise. Buy it if pressure relief is the problem and you don't sleep hot.
