In-Depth Analysis
Casper takes a one-size-fits-most approach with the Original, while Helix offers 14 different mattress models personalized via their sleep quiz. This fundamental difference in philosophy makes the comparison less about specific mattresses and more about whether you want simplicity or customization.
Helix's sleep quiz considers body type, sleep position, firmness preference, and temperature sensitivity to recommend your ideal model. In our experience, the recommendations are genuinely useful — our quiz results consistently matched our testing preferences.
Casper's advantage is simplicity and accessibility. Walk into a store, lie down, decide. No quiz, no decision paralysis, no wondering if you picked the right model. For people who find too many options overwhelming, Casper's single-model approach is refreshing.
From a construction standpoint, Helix offers hybrid designs with coils, while Casper's Original is all-foam. This gives Helix inherent advantages in edge support, cooling, and bounce. The Helix Midnight Luxe specifically outperforms the Casper Original in our side-by-side testing.
Our Verdict
Helix wins for personalization and hybrid construction. Casper wins for simplicity and in-store testing. If you're willing to take a quiz and trust the recommendation, Helix typically delivers a better-matched mattress.
Buying Advice
Choose Helix if you want a mattress personalized to your specific body and sleep style
Choose Casper if you prefer to test in-store and want a simple, no-decision-needed purchase
