Vibe's 12-inch gel memory foam bed is the plush all-foam option in the Amazon budget tier and the one to pick if what you want is thickness and sink for around $300. Twelve inches of foam is a lot of material at this price, and the extra height means a side sleeper's shoulder has somewhere to go — the most common failure of cheap mattresses. Motion isolation is the best of any budget bed we have tested; you can genuinely not feel a partner move. The cost of all that foam is heat. Gel infusion slows warming but does not stop it, and with no coils there is no airflow path. If you sleep hot, buy the Linenspa hybrid instead.

Twelve inches for under $300 and it feels like a real mattress, not a pad. My hip pain is gone. Only issue is heat in summer.
