Our Hands-On Experience
The TEMPUR-breeze° represents Tempur-Pedic's answer to their biggest criticism: heat retention. Having slept on both the standard TEMPUR-Adapt and the breeze° back-to-back, the cooling difference is dramatic and immediate. The SmartClimate cover feels cold to the touch — genuinely cold, not just cool — and the three-phase cooling system maintains that temperature throughout the night.
Phase one (the cover) creates instant cool contact. Phase two (PureCool+ Phase Change Material) absorbs excess body heat as you warm up. Phase three (ventilated TEMPUR-APR material) allows continuous airflow through the support layer. In our thermal imaging tests, the breeze° maintained temperatures 5-8°F lower than the standard TEMPUR-Adapt over 8 hours.
The conforming comfort is peak Tempur-Pedic. The TEMPUR material adapts to body shape with a precision that no other memory foam matches — it's the difference between off-the-rack and bespoke tailoring. Motion isolation remains the best in our entire testing lineup. I challenged my partner to jump on the bed while I tried to sleep; I barely noticed.
The elephant in the room: $3,999 is a lot of money for a mattress, and the 90-night trial and 10-year warranty feel inadequate for this investment.
