Two hand-nested spring layers work like coil-on-coil in a modern hybrid, but with calico-pocketed springs at both levels. The upper layer of smaller springs handles contour and the lower layer handles load, so the surface follows the body closely while deep support stays constant.

The practical benefit is that the bed can be simultaneously soft at the surface and firmly supportive underneath — the combination single-layer beds struggle to deliver without foam. At this price that's what you're paying for structurally.

This is a made-to-order purchase through a dealer, with firmness specified at build. Expect a lead time of several weeks and white-glove delivery. Budget for the matching divan base as well; Vispring designs mattress and base as a system and the feel assumes the pairing.
