You keep the things that define the brand: hand-teased horsetail hair, flax, wool and cotton, pocket springs, and Swedish assembly under the same quality regime. Nothing about the material sourcing changes as you move down the ladder.

What you give up is depth. The 2000T stacks more spring-and-hair layers, and depth is what produces the enveloping, cushioned buoyancy people describe after a showroom visit. The Superia is firmer and more direct — closer to an exceptional traditional innerspring than to a cloud.

Back sleepers and combination sleepers get on best with it. At roughly 6.5 out of 10 it's firmer than the deeper models, which supports the lumbar well but gives side sleepers less shoulder relief.

Side sleepers who want the brand should either move up the range or plan for a Hästens topper, which the dealer will usually discuss. Adding a topper is a legitimate route and much cheaper than stepping up two models.

This is the price where Hästens becomes comparable to other luxury beds rather than in a category of its own. Against a Vispring or a Kluft at similar or lower money, the decision rests on feel preference and dealer relationship rather than on any objective material gap.

The 25-year warranty and the natural fills mean the amortized cost is roughly $1.40 a night over the bed's expected life, which is genuinely competitive with buying a $2,500 hybrid every seven years.
