Our verdict
The SFERRA Sonno Notte is for those who accept nothing less than the finest. Founded in Italy in 1891, SFERRA is the gold standard in luxury linens — and their mattresses uphold that legacy. The Sonno Notte features a luxury firm construction with individually pocketed coils, natural Talalay latex, and a quilted organic cotton cover. Hand-tufted and built in the USA, this mattress is designed to pair with SFERRA's world-renowned Giza 45 cotton sheets for the ultimate sleep experience. Available with optional 5" or 9" foundations.
SFERRA Sonno Notte Luxury Firm Overview
The SFERRA Sonno Notte is a luxury firm innerspring mattress featuring individually pocketed coils, natural Talalay latex, and an organic cotton cover. Hand-tufted and built in the USA, it provides a supportive 7.0/10 firmness ideal for back and stomach sleepers, with strong motion isolation and temperature regulation.
What Our Research Found
This assessment is based on published manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. We have not physically tested this model, so nothing below describes first-hand use.
The mattress itself had a robust, weighty feel, coming in at over 150 pounds for the queen size, indicating dense coil and latex layers beneath the surface.
However, this mattress isn't for everyone. Its 'luxury firm' feel means that side sleepers under 130 pounds might find it a bit too unyielding, potentially leading to pressure points at the shoulder and hip – a softer latex or all-foam option would likely be a better fit. Also, at a sticker price of $5462, it positions itself firmly in the ultra-premium segment, which is a significant investment compared to a $2000-range hybrid like the Helix Midnight Luxe.
Considering the investment, SFERRA offers a 15-year warranty, which is standard for high-end mattresses, and a 100-night sleep trial, allowing ample time to decide if it's the right fit. While the price is high, for buyers prioritizing exceptional craftsmanship, durable materials, and a firm, supportive feel, the Sonno Notte delivers. It's a mattress built to last well beyond 10 years, making its long-term value strong if it meets your specific sleep needs.

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
The SFERRA Sonno Notte Luxury Firm's firmer feel (7/10) is not ideal for most side sleepers. The limited cushioning may create pressure points at shoulders and hips. Side sleepers under 200 lbs should consider a softer mattress for proper comfort.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers will find the SFERRA Sonno Notte Luxury Firm's 7/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 7/10, the SFERRA Sonno Notte Luxury Firm provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need.
Combination Sleepers
The SFERRA Sonno Notte Luxury Firm's innerspring construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions. The coil unit gives back bounce that makes repositioning effortless.
Which SFERRA Sonno Notte Luxury Firm Model Should You Buy?
The Sonno Notte is SFERRA's firm luxury mattress — natural Talalay latex and high-density comfort foam over individually pocketed coils at 14.5 inches, built for back and stomach sleepers who want luxury materials without the pillow-top sink.

Most firm mattresses achieve their feel by skimping on comfort layers. The Sonno Notte doesn't: it stacks natural Talalay latex and high-density foam and relies on the latex's inherent supportiveness to hold the 7/10 feel. The result is firm but not hard — there's genuine cushioning without sink.
That's exactly what back and stomach sleepers over 150 pounds should want from a luxury bed, and it's a feel cheaper firm mattresses can't replicate.
Buying considerations
As with the Nuvole, the 30-night trial is the weak point — short for the price, and firmness mismatches are the most common luxury-mattress regret. Be sure you're a firm-bed sleeper before committing.
White-glove delivery is standard at this tier. The 14.5-inch profile works with standard deep-pocket sheets, unlike the 16-inch Nuvole.
