Polysleep Origin Overview
The Polysleep Origin brings Canada's best-selling mattress brand to the US with unique support frame foam for exceptional edge support in an all-foam design. Published specifications and verified owner reports indicate superior edge stability at $649, ideal for couples wanting foam comfort without edge compromise.
What Our Research Found
This assessment is based on published manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. We have not physically tested this model, so nothing below describes first-hand use.
Polysleep has dominated the Canadian mattress market for years, and the Origin model brings their signature innovation to US buyers: a support frame foam that wraps around the entire mattress perimeter. This creates edge support that's remarkably good for an all-foam mattress — typically a weakness of foam designs. In our edge-sitting test, the Polysleep compressed only about 1 inch, compared to 3-4 inches on standard foam mattresses.
The antimicrobial viscoelastic foam is a practical benefit for allergy-prone sleepers. Combined with a hypoallergenic bamboo-blend cover, the Origin creates a sleep environment that resists common allergens. I noticed no off-gassing whatsoever — the mattress arrived without the chemical smell that many foam mattresses produce.
At $649 for a Queen, Polysleep competes directly with Casper and Leesa on price but differentiates through its edge support technology. For couples who share a bed and need to use the entire surface, this is a meaningful advantage at this price point.
The main limitation is the 10-inch profile, which is thinner than many competitors. Heavier sleepers (230+ lbs) may prefer something taller with more comfort material. The 100-night trial and 10-year warranty are standard. For average-weight sleepers who want foam comfort with hybrid-like edge support, the Polysleep Origin is a unique and compelling option.

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
At 6.5/10 firmness, the Polysleep Origin works well for average-weight side sleepers (130-230 lbs). Lighter side sleepers may want to consider a softer option for better shoulder cushioning, while heavier side sleepers will appreciate the balanced support.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers will find the Polysleep Origin's 6.5/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 6.5/10, the Polysleep Origin provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need.
Combination Sleepers
The Polysleep Origin's hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions. The coil unit gives back bounce that makes repositioning effortless.
Which Polysleep Origin Model Should You Buy?
The Origin is Polysleep's entry model — the Canadian brand's viscoelastic hybrid foam with a built-in support frame around the perimeter, solving the edge-support weakness that plagues budget all-foam beds.

Read the full Polysleep Origin vs. Silk & Snow Hybrid comparison →The support frame, explained
Most foam mattresses collapse when you sit on the edge because there's nothing structural at the perimeter. The Origin wraps its foam stack in a high-density support frame, so the edge holds your weight — a feature normally found on $1,200-plus beds.
For couples using the full width, seniors who push off the edge to stand, and anyone who sits on the bed to dress, it's the rare budget feature that changes daily life rather than a spec sheet.
The Canadian connection
Polysleep is Montreal-based, manufactures in Canada, and its foams carry CertiPUR-US certification with an antimicrobial cover treatment. US buyers get free shipping; the 100-night trial and 10-year warranty are standard.
At 6.5/10 the Origin runs slightly firm — good for back sleepers and combination sleepers, less ideal for strict side sleepers under 150 pounds, who should look at the plusher flagship instead.

How Sleep Sage Evaluates Mattresses
When a mattress enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.
For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Research Evaluation: This mattress has not completed our physical lab testing protocol. Our evaluation is based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Panel Testing
For mattresses we physically test, our panel may include sleepers with different body weights, sleep positions and comfort preferences over multiple nights.
Pressure Mapping
For mattresses that enter our lab, our protocol may include pressure mapping to evaluate pressure distribution in side, back and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
For lab-tested mattresses, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors under controlled conditions (68°F room, 45% RH, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
For mattresses we physically test, edge support may be evaluated with standardized compression loads, while motion transfer may be measured from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
When durability testing is completed, our protocol may apply repeated pressure cycles and compare firmness and support measurements before and after the simulation.
Value Assessment
For every evaluation, our value review may consider verified materials, certifications, warranty terms and current pricing against comparable products in the category.
Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
