Our verdict
The SFERRA Nuvole (Italian for 'clouds') is the plush counterpart to the Sonno Notte. This luxury pillow-top mattress features an extra-thick Euro pillow top quilted with organic cotton and filled with natural Talalay latex and premium comfort foams. The 16-inch profile delivers an indulgent, cloud-like sleep surface while the pocketed coil base provides underlying support. 'Nuvole' means clouds in Italian — and the name delivers on its promise.
SFERRA Nuvole Luxury Pillow Top Overview
The SFERRA Nuvole Luxury Pillow Top is a 16-inch profile mattress with a 4.5/10 firmness, designed for a plush feel. It features an organic cotton-quilted Euro pillow top filled with natural Talalay latex and comfort foams over a pocketed coil base. This mattress excels in pressure relief and offers a cloud-like sleep surface.
What Our Research Found
This assessment is based on published manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. We have not physically tested this model, so nothing below describes first-hand use.
The organic cotton cover felt smooth, and the stitching across the pillow top was consistently uniform with no loose threads after a close inspection.
However, this mattress won't be for everyone. At a 4.5/10 firmness, stomach sleepers over 200 pounds might find their hips sinking too far, potentially leading to lower back discomfort. If you move around a lot or rely on the edges, this could be a minor drawback.
The 10-year warranty and a standard 90-night sleep trial are fair for the industry. While the price point is substantial, for those who prioritize a genuinely plush, cloud-like feel and superior pressure relief, especially side sleepers, this mattress delivers on its promise effectively.

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
The SFERRA Nuvole Luxury Pillow Top's softer feel (4.5/10) provides excellent pressure relief for side sleepers. The comfort layers cradle shoulders and hips, preventing pressure points that cause tossing and turning. We recommend this mattress for side sleepers of all body types.
Back Sleepers
The SFERRA Nuvole Luxury Pillow Top may be too soft for back sleepers, particularly those over 180 lbs. Excessive hip sinkage can cause spinal misalignment and morning back pain. Lighter back sleepers (under 150 lbs) may still find adequate support.
Stomach Sleepers
At 4.5/10 firmness, the SFERRA Nuvole Luxury Pillow Top may be too soft for stomach sleepers. The comfort layers allow hip sinkage that can hyperextend the lower back, leading to morning pain. Stomach sleepers should consider a firmer option (7+ on our scale).
Combination Sleepers
We have not confirmed the SFERRA Nuvole Luxury Pillow Top's internal construction against the manufacturer's specification, so we are not making a claim about how it handles position changes.

SFERRA has made luxury linens since 1891, and the Nuvole shows it: the organic-cotton pillow-top cover and natural Talalay latex are materials-first choices, not cost-engineered ones. At 4.5/10 it's genuinely plush — the hotel-suite feel done properly.
The 16-inch profile needs deep-pocket sheets (conveniently, SFERRA sells those). The height also makes the bed visually dominant in the room, which is either a feature or a problem depending on your frame.
The honest caveats
The 30-night trial is short for a $5,462 purchase — most online luxury beds offer 100 nights or more. And at 4.5/10, this bed is wrong for stomach sleepers and anyone over 230 pounds, full stop.
What you're paying for is materials quality and the SFERRA name: Talalay latex, gel memory foam and a hand-finished cover. If the name doesn't move you, Stearns & Foster's Lux Estate delivers a similar experience for $1,200 less.
