This isn't your average lightweight foam mattress; it weighs in at about 150 pounds for a queen, feeling substantial and well-built.
While the deep contouring is fantastic for pressure relief, it does make moving around a bit harder, so combination sleepers who shift frequently might find it restrictive. Couples sensitive to motion transfer will appreciate its near-zero motion isolation, but those who prefer a more responsive feel should look elsewhere.
At a starting price of $3999 for a queen, this mattress is a significant investment. However, Tempur-Pedic provides a 90-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty, which is standard for the industry but reassuring.

The Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt's softer feel (4/10) provides excellent pressure relief for side sleepers. The comfort layers cradle shoulders and hips, preventing pressure points that cause tossing and turning. We recommend this mattress for side sleepers of all body types.
Back Sleepers
The Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt may be too soft for back sleepers, particularly those over 180 lbs. Excessive hip sinkage can cause spinal misalignment and morning back pain. Lighter back sleepers (under 150 lbs) may still find adequate support.
Stomach Sleepers
At 4/10 firmness, the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt may be too soft for stomach sleepers. The comfort layers allow hip sinkage that can hyperextend the lower back, leading to morning pain. Stomach sleepers should consider a firmer option (7+ on our scale).
Combination Sleepers
The Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt's memory foam construction contours to each sleep position but may resist quick position changes. Slower-responding foam can make combination sleepers feel briefly "stuck" when transitioning.

The LuxeAdapt is the plushest non-Breeze Tempur-Pedic — the model to look at if you want the deepest TEMPUR cradle without paying for the cooling stack. It comes in Soft and Firm, and the Soft is genuinely soft in a way little else in the lineup is.

APR is Tempur-Pedic's most pressure-relieving formulation — softer at the surface but with the same underlying density, so it cradles further without bottoming out. The LuxeAdapt uses the thickest APR layer in the range, under a stretch-knit cover, over a firm TEMPUR support base.
If you are a side sleeper with a chronically numb arm or an aching shoulder, this is the specific mattress that solves it — the tradeoff being that you will feel very much 'in' the bed rather than on it.
