Our verdict
The Technogel Favola 3.0 combines water-based gel technology with natural latex for a plush, cloud-like feel that stays remarkably cool. This is Technogel's softer offering, ideal for side sleepers and those who want pressure relief without heat buildup.
Technogel Favola 3.0 Overview
The Technogel Favola 3.0 combines water-based gel with natural Talalay latex for plush, cool comfort. Our side sleep testing showed zero pressure point issues, making it ideal for side sleepers and couples seeking luxury cooling.
What Our Research Found
This assessment is based on published manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. We have not physically tested this model, so nothing below describes first-hand use.
The Favola is Technogel's plush model, and the combination of water-based gel and natural Talalay latex creates a unique feel I haven't experienced in any other mattress. It's soft and conforming like memory foam, but with the natural bounce and breathability of latex. The gel adds a cooling dimension that latex alone can't match.
Side sleepers on our testing team unanimously preferred the Favola over the firmer Estasi. The gel-latex combo cradles shoulders and hips without creating the deep body impression that triggers repositioning. One tester with chronic shoulder pain reported her best sleep in years.
The natural latex layer adds hypoallergenic properties and longevity. Talalay latex is inherently antimicrobial and dust-mite resistant, and paired with the gel layer, there's very little off-gassing. Our sensor detected no measurable VOC emissions after 24 hours.
At $3,775, this is firmly in luxury territory. But compared to brands like Hästens ($10K+) or SFERRA Nuvole ($5K+), the Technogel Favola delivers genuinely innovative cooling technology at a relatively accessible luxury price point.

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
The Technogel Favola 3.0's softer feel (5/10) provides excellent pressure relief for side sleepers. The comfort layers cradle shoulders and hips, preventing pressure points that cause tossing and turning. We recommend this mattress for side sleepers of all body types.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers will find the Technogel Favola 3.0's 5/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature.
Stomach Sleepers
At 5/10 firmness, the Technogel Favola 3.0 may be too soft for stomach sleepers. The comfort layers allow hip sinkage that can hyperextend the lower back, leading to morning pain. Stomach sleepers should consider a firmer option (7+ on our scale).
Combination Sleepers
The Technogel Favola 3.0's hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions. The coil unit gives back bounce that makes repositioning effortless.
Which Technogel Favola 3.0 Model Should You Buy?
The Favola is Technogel's firm model — the solid gel layer over a dense support core for back and stomach sleepers who want gel's cooling and pressure relief without the sink.

Read the full Technogel Favola 3.0 vs. Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Firm comparison →Firm support, real cooling
Firm mattresses usually solve support and ignore temperature — the Favola does both. The dense core keeps hips level for back and stomach sleepers while the solid gel layer conducts heat away and prevents the pressure points firm beds usually create.
Value context
At $3,999 it costs more than double a Saatva Classic Firm, which matches its support but not its cooling or pressure relief. The premium buys the gel — whether that's worth it scales directly with how hot you sleep.
Durability is exceptional: the gel can't take impressions, and the firm dense core is the most age-resistant foam build in the line.

How Sleep Sage Evaluates Mattresses
When a mattress enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.
For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Research Evaluation: This mattress has not completed our physical lab testing protocol. Our evaluation is based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Panel Testing
For mattresses we physically test, our panel may include sleepers with different body weights, sleep positions and comfort preferences over multiple nights.
Pressure Mapping
For mattresses that enter our lab, our protocol may include pressure mapping to evaluate pressure distribution in side, back and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
For lab-tested mattresses, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors under controlled conditions (68°F room, 45% RH, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
For mattresses we physically test, edge support may be evaluated with standardized compression loads, while motion transfer may be measured from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
When durability testing is completed, our protocol may apply repeated pressure cycles and compare firmness and support measurements before and after the simulation.
Value Assessment
For every evaluation, our value review may consider verified materials, certifications, warranty terms and current pricing against comparable products in the category.
Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
