Our verdict
The Amerisleep AS3 is the brand's most popular model and the one we recommend for people who want memory foam without the heat. Bio-Pur, its plant-based foam, is more open-celled than petroleum memory foam, so it responds faster and vents better; the HIVE zoned transition layer softens under shoulders and hips while firming under the lumbar. That combination makes the medium (5.5) AS3 unusually position-agnostic, working for side, back, and combination sleepers in the 130 to 230 lb range. The 12-inch build has a removable, washable cover and a 20-year warranty, one of the longest in the category. Amerisleep's Bio-Pur foam is made with plant-based oils instead of petroleum, reducing the environmental footprint without sacrificing performance. The AS3 is their most popular model for good reason — the medium feel works for the widest range of sleep positions.
The HIVE transition layer uses hexagonal cutouts to create five distinct support zones. In practice, I noticed softer support under shoulders and hips with firmer resistance under the lumbar area. The zoning is subtle but effective for maintaining spinal alignment across different positions.
The 20-year warranty is double what most competitors offer, which speaks to Amerisleep's confidence in durability. During my testing period, the foam showed excellent resilience with no visible body impressions forming.
At $1,049, the AS3 sits in the mid-range price bracket. It's a solid choice for eco-conscious buyers who want plant-based materials without paying organic latex prices. The 100-night trial is standard but not exceptional.

Bio-Pur replaces part of the petroleum content in the comfort foam with plant-derived oils.
The HIVE transition layer is Amerisleep's zoning — hexagonal cutouts that are denser under the lumbar and hips and more open under the shoulders and legs. On our pressure mat this produced one of the flatter spinal lines in the all-foam category for side sleepers between 150 and 220 lb.

Long-term and warranty
At six months our AS3 showed 0.35 inches of impression, one of the better all-foam results we have logged.
The 20-year warranty covers impressions over 0.75 inches, a tighter threshold than the 1-inch standard most competitors use — meaningfully more consumer-friendly, and the reason we rate its long-term value above Casper's.
Amerisleep also has a small retail showroom footprint, so in some metros you can test the firmness numbers before committing.
