    Our verdict

The Legend Chill is Leesa's flagship: a 13.5-inch hybrid with two spring systems — 0.75 inches of micro-springs above 8 inches of zoned lumbar springs — under gel-infused quilt foam, plant-based GreenFlex BioFoam and memory foam, all wrapped in an Ultra Cool phase-change cover. Leesa builds it in its signature medium feel. It is the cooling-focused, back-support-focused end of the Leesa line, and it is priced accordingly at $2,059 queen.

    Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid Overview

The Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid is a 13.5-inch flagship hybrid at $2,059 queen: a phase-change Ultra Cool cover, gel-infused quilt foam, plant-based GreenFlex BioFoam, memory foam, 0.75 inches of micro-springs and 8 inches of zoned lumbar springs. Medium feel, 120-night trial, limited lifetime warranty.

    What Our Research Found

This assessment is based on published manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. We have not physically tested this model, so nothing below describes first-hand use.

The Legend Chill is the top of the Leesa range and should not be confused with the older Legend, the Sapira Chill or the Original Hybrid. What defines it is the dual spring system: 0.75 inches of micro-springs near the surface for responsiveness and airflow, over eight inches of zoned springs that concentrate support under the hips.

Leesa leans on cooling in its own marketing, and the construction backs the framing up: a phase-change Ultra Cool cover, gel-infused quilt foam and an air gap created by the micro-spring layer. Cool-to-the-touch covers do exactly that — they feel cool when you lie down.

The material story is genuine rather than decorative. GreenFlex BioFoam is made with plant-derived polyols and is USDA BioPreferred certified, and the foams are CertiPUR-US certified with GREENGUARD Gold certification on the mattress. That is a stronger position than most mainstream hybrids at this price.

The reservations are price and choice. At $2,059 queen it is Leesa's most expensive bed, it comes in one medium feel, and the trial is 120 nights. Buyers who want most of the cooling for less should compare the Sapira Chill before deciding.

    • Limited lifetime warranty; CertiPUR-US and GREENGUARD Gold certified

    What Could Be Better

    • $2,059 queen — Leesa's most expensive mattress
    • Medium only; no firmness choice
    • 120-night trial rather than a year
    • 113 lb in queen and 13.5 inches tall, so deep-pocket sheets and a second pair of hands

    Best For

    • Couples who want responsiveness without heavy motion transfer
    • Buyers who care about plant-based and certified foams

    Sleep Position Analysis

    Side Sleepers

At 6/10 firmness, the Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid works well for average-weight side sleepers (130-230 lbs). Lighter side sleepers may want to consider a softer option for better shoulder cushioning, while heavier side sleepers will appreciate the balanced support.

    Back Sleepers

Back sleepers will find the Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid's 6/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature.

    Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 6/10, the Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need.

    Combination Sleepers

The Leesa Legend Chill Hybrid's hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions. The coil unit gives back bounce that makes repositioning effortless.

Two spring systems, and why that matters

Most hybrids have one coil unit. The Legend Chill has two: 0.75 inches of micro-springs sitting above an inch of memory foam, and eight inches of zoned lumbar springs below it. The micro-spring layer behaves like a responsive comfort layer that also creates an air gap, which is why Leesa's own description leans on airflow rather than only on foam cooling.

The zoned layer underneath concentrates support where hips press hardest. Between them, the intent is a surface that gives at the shoulder and holds at the hips. That is a construction description, not a measurement of spinal alignment.

Cooling: cover, air gap and honest limits

The Ultra Cool cover is built from phase-change fibres, which absorb heat as they change state and are the reason the surface feels cool the moment you lie down. Gel-infused quilt foam sits directly under it, and the micro-spring layer keeps air moving mid-mattress.

A cool-to-touch cover is a real, repeatable effect at contact. Sustained overnight temperature is a different question that depends on airflow and how much of you the bed wraps.

    Plant-based foam and certifications

GreenFlex BioFoam is made using natural polyols derived from non-food crops and is a USDA Certified Biobased Product. The foams are CertiPUR-US certified, and the mattress is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions.

Those are specific, verifiable certifications on specific components. They do not make the Legend Chill an organic or all-natural mattress — it is a conventional hybrid that uses a partly plant-derived foam and holds emissions certification.

Price, trial and the Sapira Chill question

At $2,059 queen the Legend Chill is the most expensive bed Leesa sells, and the trial is 120 nights rather than a year. Warranty coverage is a limited lifetime warranty.

The obvious internal rival is the Sapira Chill, Leesa's other premium cooling hybrid, which uses a zoned coil system and costs less. If your priority is cooling on a budget, compare the two before defaulting to the flagship; if you want the dual spring construction and the deepest comfort layers Leesa builds, the Legend Chill is the one.

    How Sleep Sage Evaluates Mattresses

When a mattress enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.

For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.

Research Evaluation: This mattress has not completed our physical lab testing protocol. Our evaluation is based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.

    Panel Testing

For mattresses we physically test, our panel may include sleepers with different body weights, sleep positions and comfort preferences over multiple nights.

    Pressure Mapping

For mattresses that enter our lab, our protocol may include pressure mapping to evaluate pressure distribution in side, back and stomach sleeping positions.

    Temperature Testing

For lab-tested mattresses, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors under controlled conditions (68°F room, 45% RH, standard bedding).

    Edge & Motion Isolation

For mattresses we physically test, edge support may be evaluated with standardized compression loads, while motion transfer may be measured from a standardized drop at multiple distances.

    Durability Simulation

When durability testing is completed, our protocol may apply repeated pressure cycles and compare firmness and support measurements before and after the simulation.

    Value Assessment

For every evaluation, our value review may consider verified materials, certifications, warranty terms and current pricing against comparable products in the category.
