The Avocado Green Mattress is made in their own factory in Los Angeles, and the transparency is refreshing. The result is a denser, more durable construction with fewer weak points.
At 7/10 firmness, this is a firm mattress. Back and stomach sleepers will love the flat, supportive surface that prevents hip sinkage. However, two side sleepers on our testing team found it too firm at the shoulders. The optional pillow top ($400 extra) brings it down to about 5.5/10 firmness and makes it suitable for all positions.
The GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex has a distinctly bouncy, responsive feel. Unlike memory foam, you sleep 'on' this mattress rather than 'in' it.
Environmental credentials are best-in-class: Climate Neutral certified, GOLS organic latex, GOTS organic wool and cotton, and they're a certified B Corporation.
