Our verdict
The Helix Dusk Elite is the medium-feel bed in the Helix Elite range, positioned by Helix for back and stomach sleepers, and it is a different mattress from the Helix Dusk Luxe, the Helix Midnight Elite and the other Elite models. Helix specifies 15 inches: a cooling top layer, an optional CoolForce heat-transfer layer, Helix's gel memory foam comfort layer, SupremeSupport 7.0 memory foam, a pressure-distribution layer of individually wrapped steel microcoils between high-density foams, a Premium Responsive Foam layer tuned for the medium feel, the ErgoAlign Contour Layer for lumbar support, an eight-inch unit of up to 1,000 extra-firm wrapped coils with reinforced support under the hips and full perimeter reinforcement, and a DuraDense base foam. A queen measures 60 x 80 x 15 inches, foams are CertiPUR-US certified, and the mattress comes with a 120-night trial and a limited lifetime warranty.

Helix Dusk Elite Overview
The Helix Dusk Elite is a 15-inch medium-feel Elite hybrid for back and stomach sleepers: a GlacioTex Elite cooling cover, gel memory foam, SupremeSupport 7.0 memory foam, a microcoil pressure layer, the ErgoAlign Contour Layer and an 8-inch unit of up to 1,000 extra-firm zoned coils with full perimeter reinforcement. 120-night trial, limited lifetime warranty. Research evaluation.
What Our Research Found
This assessment is based on published manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. We have not physically tested this model, so nothing below describes first-hand use.
Helix's naming grid is the first hurdle: Dusk is the medium feel, Elite is the top construction tier, so the Dusk Elite is the medium-feel bed in the Elite range. It is not the Dusk Luxe, which is the cheaper tier of the same feel, and it is not the Midnight Elite, which is the softer, side-sleeper-oriented Elite. Helix positions the Dusk Elite for back and stomach sleepers.
The layer that justifies the Elite badge is the ErgoAlign Contour Layer, which Helix describes as adding structure under the hips while the shoulders stay softer, working with an eight-inch unit of up to 1,000 extra-firm wrapped coils that carries reinforced support under the lumbar region and full perimeter reinforcement. Above that sits a microcoil pressure-distribution layer between high-density foams. That is a lot of engineering aimed at one problem: stopping the hips dropping.
Cooling is a configuration choice rather than a fixed feature. The GlacioTex Elite cooling cover is the standard option and the CoolForce heat-transfer layer is the deeper one, and the price shifts with the choice. Worth reading the option table carefully before comparing this bed's price with anything else.
This page replaces an old thin directory listing for the Dusk Elite. That listing carried no verified specification work, and everything here was read from Helix's current product page instead. It is a research evaluation: we have not run the Dusk Elite through our lab protocol, so there are no pressure, temperature or motion measurements on this page.
Performance assessment
How we score (1โ10 rubric) โEvaluated through published specifications, manufacturer information, verified owner feedback and materials analysis. Not physically tested in our lab. We do not publish cooling, motion-isolation, edge-support, pressure-relief, response, durability or off-gassing scores for the Helix Dusk Elite until the full protocol is complete. Everything below โ construction, materials, firmness, pricing, trial and warranty โ is verified specification and editorial analysis.

The Helix Dusk Elite has been evaluated from published specifications, manufacturer data, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. It has not been through our lab. Rather than publish estimated numbers, we leave this table empty and publish no Sleep Sage performance scores until the measurements exist.
Firmness Level
Medium (6/10)
What We Love
- ErgoAlign Contour Layer and zoned coils aimed squarely at lumbar support
- Microcoil pressure-distribution layer between high-density foams
- Up to 1,000 extra-firm wrapped coils with full perimeter reinforcement
- Cooling is standard, with a CoolForce heat-transfer layer available in the cooling options
- Limited lifetime warranty and CertiPUR-US certified foams
What Could Be Better
- Expensive โ one of the priciest hybrids we cover
- One medium feel, with no softer or firmer build of this exact model
- At 15 inches it needs deep-pocket sheets and clearance on a tall frame
- 120-night trial is shorter than the year-long windows several rivals offer
- Cooling choices change the price, which makes like-for-like comparison fiddly
Best For
- Back sleepers who want lumbar reinforcement built into the layer stack
- Stomach sleepers who need the hips held up rather than cradled
- Couples who want strong edges and a deep, stable build
- Hot sleepers willing to pay for the deeper cooling option
Not Ideal For
- Side sleepers who want a soft, deeply cushioned surface โ the Midnight Elite is the Helix bed for that
- Budget shoppers; the Dusk Luxe covers similar ground for much less
- Anyone with a low bed frame or standard-pocket sheets

An extra-stable base foam securing the layers above and supporting base compatibility.
Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
At 6/10 firmness, the Helix Dusk Elite works well for average-weight side sleepers (130-230 lbs). Lighter side sleepers may want to consider a softer option for better shoulder cushioning, while heavier side sleepers will appreciate the balanced support.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers will find the Helix Dusk Elite's 6/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 6/10, the Helix Dusk Elite provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need.
Combination Sleepers
The Helix Dusk Elite's hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions. The coil unit gives back bounce that makes repositioning effortless.
Which Helix Dusk Elite Model Should You Buy?
Helix names its beds on a grid: the model name is the feel, the tier is the construction. Dusk is the medium feel; Elite is the top tier. Queen pricing was read from helixsleep.com on 15 September 2026.

Helix sells the same feel at several construction tiers, so 'Dusk' alone is not enough to identify a mattress. The Dusk Elite is the top tier of the medium feel: 15 inches, with layers the cheaper Dusk and Dusk Luxe do not have. It is a different bed from the Midnight Elite, which is the same Elite build tuned softer for side sleepers, and from the Dawn Elite, which is firmer.
Helix positions the Dusk Elite for back and stomach sleepers who want a medium feel with top-tier comfort. That positioning is the manufacturer's own, and it lines up with the construction: this is a bed engineered around lumbar support.
The lumbar engineering, layer by layer
Working down: a GlacioTex Elite cooling cover, an optional CoolForce heat-transfer layer, Helix's gel memory foam, SupremeSupport 7.0 memory foam, a pressure-distribution layer of individually wrapped steel microcoils between high-density foams, a Premium Responsive Foam layer formulated for the medium feel, the ErgoAlign Contour Layer, an eight-inch unit of up to 1,000 extra-firm wrapped coils with reinforced support under the hips and full perimeter reinforcement, and a DuraDense base foam.
Two of those are doing the specific work. The ErgoAlign Contour Layer adds structure under the hips while the shoulders stay softer โ Helix's answer to the classic back-sleeper problem of hips sinking and the lumbar curve flattening. The microcoil layer distributes pressure locally rather than letting the whole comfort stack compress as one. Foams are CertiPUR-US certified.
Price, cooling options and the trial
Cooling is a configuration rather than a feature: the GlacioTex Elite cover alone is the cheaper option, and adding the CoolForce layer takes the queen to the price we verified. Compare like with like when you price this against another brand, because the two configurations are nearly $300 apart.
This page replaces an old thin directory listing for the Dusk Elite that carried no verified specifications. Everything here comes from Helix's current product page. It remains a research evaluation: the Dusk Elite has not completed our physical testing protocol, so this page carries no measurements of pressure, temperature, motion or edge compression. The trial is 120 nights with a limited lifetime warranty.

Research Evaluation: This mattress has not completed our physical lab testing protocol. Our evaluation is based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.
Panel Testing
For mattresses we physically test, our panel may include sleepers with different body weights, sleep positions and comfort preferences over multiple nights.
Pressure Mapping
For mattresses that enter our lab, our protocol may include pressure mapping to evaluate pressure distribution in side, back and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
For lab-tested mattresses, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors under controlled conditions (68ยฐF room, 45% RH, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
For mattresses we physically test, edge support may be evaluated with standardized compression loads, while motion transfer may be measured from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
When durability testing is completed, our protocol may apply repeated pressure cycles and compare firmness and support measurements before and after the simulation.
Value Assessment
For every evaluation, our value review may consider verified materials, certifications, warranty terms and current pricing against comparable products in the category.
