Titan Plus Luxe

Titan rates the queen Plus Luxe for 1,200 lb combined. That figure describes what the coil unit and foams are specified to carry without the structural failure that shows up on ordinary mattresses as a permanent dip on one side. It is a load specification, not a comfort promise, and it is the reason the bed uses an 8-inch TitanCore unit of up to 900 individually encased coils rather than the thinner units common at this price.

What it does not tell you is whether the surface will feel right for you. A heavier sleeper who prefers a plush feel and a heavier sleeper who prefers a firm one both fit inside the same weight rating. We would not tell any shopper that a single mattress suits every heavy sleeper, and this one is sold in one medium feel only.

Both beds are built on the same principle. The Plus Luxe adds a one-inch quilted gel-foam panel at the surface and carries two inches of TitanFlex plus an inch of Supreme Response transition foam beneath it, which is where the extra cushioning and the 13-inch height come from. The standard Titan Plus is firmer and flatter.

In practice that makes the Luxe the better bet for side sleepers at higher weights, who need the shoulder and hip to sink somewhere, and the standard Plus the better bet for back and stomach sleepers who want the surface to push straight back.

The encased coil unit runs to a reinforced perimeter, which is the construction reason to expect usable edges for sitting and for sleeping close to the side — relevant if two larger adults share a queen. Encased coils also move somewhat independently, which limits how far one person's movement travels, though a responsive foam stack transmits more motion than a memory-foam bed does.

Cooling deserves a straight answer: the standard cover is not a cooling cover. If you sleep hot, the GlacioTex upgrade is the option Titan sells for it, and it adds roughly $133 to a queen.
