    Our verdict

The Naturepedic EOS Classic is the configurable one. Instead of a fixed feel it ships as a zip-open casing with interchangeable layers, so you choose a firmness from Plush through Extra Firm — and on a queen or larger you can specify a different firmness for each side of the bed. The materials are the reason people shortlist it: GOTS-certified organic cotton and wool, GOLS-certified organic latex and an encased coil support unit, with no polyurethane foam, no fiberglass and no added flame retardants. Certifications include GOTS, GOLS, MADE SAFE and GREENGUARD Gold. At $3,799 queen it is a serious investment, and the layers can be swapped later rather than replacing the mattress.

    Naturepedic EOS Classic Overview

The Naturepedic EOS Classic is a 12-inch modular organic mattress at $3,799 queen: GOTS-certified organic cotton and wool, GOLS-certified organic latex comfort layers in a zip-open casing over an encased coil unit, with five firmness configurations and split firmness on queen and larger. MADE SAFE and GREENGUARD Gold certified. Research evaluation.

    What Our Research Found

This assessment is based on published manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. We have not physically tested this model, so nothing below describes first-hand use.

The EOS Classic is the configurable one, and that is the whole reason to consider it. The casing unzips, the organic latex comfort layers inside can be re-ordered, and on a queen or larger each side is specified separately — so two people who disagree about firmness get one mattress instead of a compromise. Naturepedic sells replacement layers, so the feel can be changed years later.

Read the certification language exactly. The cotton and wool are GOTS-certified organic, the latex is GOLS-certified organic, and the mattress carries MADE SAFE and GREENGUARD Gold certification. Naturepedic also states no polyurethane foam, no fiberglass and no added flame retardants. What none of that supports is the phrase 'a 100% organic mattress' — the coils are steel — and we do not use it.

The feel is latex throughout: resilient and buoyant, quick to recover, easy to move on. If what you want is to sink slowly into a bed, no firmness configuration here will deliver that. The flip side of latex resilience is that a partner's movement travels further than it would on memory foam.

The obstacles are price and trial length. At $3,799 a queen it costs more than most certified natural hybrids we cover, and the 100-night trial is short next to the year-long windows many brands offer. The 25-year limited warranty and the ability to swap layers are the counterweight.

    Firmness Level

    SoftMediumFirm

    Medium (6/10)

    What We Love

    • Five firmness configurations, and split firmness left-to-right on queen and larger
    • Comfort layers can be re-ordered or exchanged later instead of buying a new mattress
    • GOTS-certified organic cotton and wool with GOLS-certified organic latex
    • MADE SAFE and GREENGUARD Gold certified, with no polyurethane foam or added flame retardants
    • 25-year limited warranty

    What Could Be Better

    • $3,799 queen puts it above almost every natural hybrid we cover
    • 100-night trial is shorter than most online brands
    • Configuring it takes research — the choice is the point, but it is not a one-click purchase
    • Latex resilience means less motion damping than a memory-foam bed

    Best For

    • Couples who want a different firmness on each side of one mattress
    • Buyers who want certified organic materials documented rather than implied
    • Sleepers who like latex buoyancy over memory-foam sink
    • Anyone who wants to adjust the feel years later without replacing the bed

    Not Ideal For

    • Shoppers on a budget — several certified natural hybrids cost far less
    • People who want the mattress decided for them
    • Couples where one partner is woken by any movement

    Mattress Construction

    1

Organic cotton and wool quilted cover

GOTS-certified organic cotton fabric quilted with organic wool, which also serves as the flame barrier — Naturepedic states no added flame retardants and no fiberglass.

    2

    Interchangeable latex comfort layers

GOLS-certified organic latex layers inside a zip-open casing. Their arrangement sets the firmness, from Plush to Extra Firm, and they can be re-ordered or exchanged later.

    3

    Split-side configuration (queen and larger)

On queen and larger sizes the comfort layers are specified per side, so each partner can have a different firmness inside the same mattress.

    4

    Encased coil support unit

Individually encased coils under the latex, supplying the support core and airflow through the centre of the mattress.

    Sleep Position Analysis

    Side Sleepers

At 6/10 firmness, the Naturepedic EOS Classic works well for average-weight side sleepers (130-230 lbs). Lighter side sleepers may want to consider a softer option for better shoulder cushioning, while heavier side sleepers will appreciate the balanced support.

    Back Sleepers

Back sleepers will find the Naturepedic EOS Classic's 6/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature.

    Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 6/10, the Naturepedic EOS Classic provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need.

    Combination Sleepers

The Naturepedic EOS Classic's latex construction is naturally springy, so it returns to shape quickly when you switch positions — easier for combination sleepers than memory foam.

Which Naturepedic EOS Classic Model Should You Buy?

The EOS range is Naturepedic's modular platform: the same idea, sold at three levels of refinement. Understanding which one you are reading about matters, because the layer counts and prices differ. Queen pricing was read on 15 September 2026.

Modular means you can change it later

Most mattresses are a sealed object: if the feel is wrong in year three, you replace the whole thing. The EOS Classic is built as a casing you unzip, with interchangeable latex comfort layers inside. Re-ordering those layers changes the firmness, and Naturepedic sells replacement layers so you can adjust the bed as your body or your preferences change.

On queen and larger sizes the configuration is per side, so two people who want different firmnesses get them inside one mattress rather than buying a split base or compromising. That is the single strongest reason to choose this bed over a cheaper natural hybrid.

    Reading the certifications precisely

Naturepedic's certifications are specific, and we state them exactly as they are. The cotton and wool are GOTS-certified organic. The latex is GOLS-certified organic. The mattress carries MADE SAFE certification, and GREENGUARD Gold for low chemical emissions. Naturepedic also states that the build contains no polyurethane foam, no fiberglass and no added flame retardants — the wool serves as the flame barrier.

What we will not write is that it is a "100% organic mattress". Those certifications cover the materials named, and coils are steel; no certification makes a whole mattress organic. The distinction matters to exactly the buyer who is shopping for this bed.

What $3,799 buys, and what it does not

The price is the honest obstacle. At $3,799 a queen the EOS Classic costs more than most certified natural hybrids we cover, and the 100-night trial is shorter than the industry norm of a year. The 25-year limited warranty is long, and the ability to swap layers means the practical lifespan question is different from a sealed mattress — but we do not promise any specific number of years.

The feel is latex: resilient, buoyant, quick to recover. If you want to sink slowly into a bed, this is not that mattress at any firmness setting, and latex resilience also means a partner's movement carries further than it would on memory foam.

    How Sleep Sage Evaluates Mattresses

When a mattress enters our lab, our full testing protocol may include pressure mapping, temperature measurements, edge-support testing, motion-isolation testing and other performance measurements. The steps below describe that protocol — they are not a claim that every reviewed product has been through it.

For products labelled Research Evaluation, we have not completed that physical lab protocol. Those reviews are based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.

Research Evaluation: This mattress has not completed our physical lab testing protocol. Our evaluation is based on verified construction, manufacturer specifications, policies, comparative analysis and available owner feedback.

    Panel Testing

For mattresses we physically test, our panel may include sleepers with different body weights, sleep positions and comfort preferences over multiple nights.

    Pressure Mapping

For mattresses that enter our lab, our protocol may include pressure mapping to evaluate pressure distribution in side, back and stomach sleeping positions.

    Temperature Testing

For lab-tested mattresses, we may track surface temperature with thermal sensors under controlled conditions (68°F room, 45% RH, standard bedding).

    Edge & Motion Isolation

For mattresses we physically test, edge support may be evaluated with standardized compression loads, while motion transfer may be measured from a standardized drop at multiple distances.

    Durability Simulation

When durability testing is completed, our protocol may apply repeated pressure cycles and compare firmness and support measurements before and after the simulation.

    Value Assessment

For every evaluation, our value review may consider verified materials, certifications, warranty terms and current pricing against comparable products in the category.
