What Our Research Found
This assessment is based on published manufacturer specifications, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. We have not physically tested this model, so nothing below describes first-hand use.
Helix positions the Midnight family for side sleepers, and the Luxe tier is the upgraded version: a quilted pillow top over memory foam, above a pocketed-coil unit that Helix zones to be firmer under the lumbar region than under the shoulders. Helix markets it as Medium, and its current official firmness illustration places it at 6 out of 10.
The standard cover is TENCEL. Helix's GlacioTex cooling cover is an optional, paid upgrade rather than part of the base configuration, so warm sleepers should price the mattress with that option selected.
The zoning is the construction feature that distinguishes Luxe from the core Midnight on paper. Zoned coils are intended to let the shoulders sink further than the hips, which is the alignment side sleepers generally need; whether a given sleeper perceives that depends on body weight and shape, which is why the trial matters.
On policy, Helix lists a 120-night trial and a limited lifetime warranty for eligible purchases made on or after February 1, 2025, with the specific terms on its warranty page. The trial is shorter than the year-long windows some competitors offer, so plan to decide within about four months.
Performance assessment
How we score (1–10 rubric) →Evaluated through published specifications, manufacturer information and materials analysis. Not physically tested in our lab. We do not publish cooling, motion-isolation, edge-support, pressure-relief, response, durability or off-gassing scores for the Helix Midnight Luxe until the full protocol is complete. Everything below — construction, materials, firmness, pricing, trial and warranty — is verified specification and editorial analysis.
Research evaluation — full lab score pending
The Helix Midnight Luxe has been evaluated from published specifications, manufacturer data, materials analysis and verified owner feedback. It has not been through our lab. Rather than publish estimated numbers, we leave this table empty and publish no Sleep Sage performance scores until the measurements exist.

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
At 6/10 firmness, the Helix Midnight Luxe works well for average-weight side sleepers (130-230 lbs). Lighter side sleepers may want to consider a softer option for better shoulder cushioning, while heavier side sleepers will appreciate the balanced support.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers will find the Helix Midnight Luxe's 6/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 6/10, the Helix Midnight Luxe provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need.
Combination Sleepers
The Helix Midnight Luxe's hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions. The coil unit gives back bounce that makes repositioning effortless.
Which Helix Midnight Luxe Model Should You Buy?
Helix organizes its range by sleeper type rather than by firmness number, which confuses shoppers. The Midnight family is the side-sleeper line; Luxe is the upgraded tier with a quilted pillow top and zoned lumbar coils. We only list prices we have read from Helix on a stated date; everything else says to check the current price.

From the top, per Helix's published specification: a quilted pillow-top cover (TENCEL as standard, GlacioTex as an optional upgrade), then memory foam, then a transition layer, then a zoned pocketed-coil unit that Helix makes firmer under the lumbar third, over a base layer. Total height is 13.5 inches.
The zoning is what separates Luxe from the core Midnight on paper. Zoned coils are designed to let the shoulder sink further than the hip, which is the alignment side sleepers typically need.
What we could not verify
Helix's own firmness illustration (6/10) is the manufacturer's rating, not ours.
Long-term durability depends on foam density and coil gauge, which Helix does not fully publish. The limited lifetime warranty is the best available signal; read its impression threshold and eligibility terms on Helix's warranty page.
Who should skip it
Skip the Midnight Luxe if you sleep mainly on your stomach — a medium pillow-topped surface can let the hips drop. Twilight Luxe is the Helix answer there. Heavier side sleepers should compare Helix's Elite or a model with published reinforced support before buying.
Also skip it if a very long trial matters to you. Helix lists 120 nights, shorter than the 365-night windows offered by Nectar, DreamCloud and Saatva.
